University of Michigan Early Action Class of 2019 Discussion

I’m a current Michigan student, and yes, they email you the decision regardless of whether you’re accepted, deferred or denied.

Good luck to all…I remember my son waiting. Emails started around 5 pm Friday…my sons friend found out early. My son waited several hours and then an email came that said " Congratulations…How does it feel to be a Wolverine!?"… so don’t get upset if it isn’t right away…this goes back three years…it all works out in the end!

To add to that^ don’t be too discouraged by a deferral. I was deferred EA last year, but found out that I was accepted before they even started to review the applications for regular decision.

…so nervous for decisions omg.

really hoping they come out this friday (or earlier, but i know earlier is unlikely) Good luck everyone!!!

Good point kkid24!

What are the chances of getting accepted after being deferred?

I think it’s hard to say what the chances of being accepted are, however I know for a fact that a lot of students are deferred during the EA round of decisions, so it is certainly not a denial. That’s not to say that it isn’t important to continue working hard.

I feel like they might actually release on the 24th and no earlier. Just took a look at the Mich tumblr and saw some posts about how they have too many applications. I mean, why wouldn’t they just tell us if its this friday? Wouldn’t that be much easier? Wouldn’t that create less pressure on them as well, not having to work near christmas?

ughhh, just got deferred from Chicago. Hopefully Michigan pulls through for me.

@Prodigee They say the same thing every year haha.

@fdizzle‌ haha oh, I’m just preparing for the worst.

Yeah, trust me it hurts a lot less if you’re prepared. Not that you would be given anything other than an acceptance

@fdizzle i wouldn’t say that, 31 ACT 4.0 uw, but omg OOS!! Deferred haha

@fdizzle same boat as ya

just two more days

@fdizzle‌ got deferred from Chicago too so I feel ya

If I cannot get in then I would not be happy to spend time in Korea with my family and friends… I am going back to Korea for this Christmas

@Sando97 @mtjade I feel like Chicago isn’t doing us much good if they defer almost everyone that isn’t accepted. Like do we realistically even have a chance? Kind of frustrated…because Idk if they deferred us just to defer, or because we actually have a chance. I don’t know anyone on CC, or who I know personally that got rejected lol.

anyway, this isn’t the Chicago forum, so back to U of M!!!
