the uncertainty is killing me

But I heard that they also reject many applicants. We cannot simply say they usually defer most of the applicants based on the small amount of people in CC

Not that I can definitively say anything because I do not work in admissions, but in past years the decisions have ALWAYS come out on Friday. Also, last year they closed the admissions office the day they released decisions, just as many of you have said they’re closing the admissions office this Friday.

@JK0919 Very true, and I completely agree with you. Hopefully you’re right…

I think I saw the statistics saying that only 1500 people got deferred from early action past few years. So we need to calm down that we are qualified from UChicago.

What’s everyone’s ACT score?

35

I’m OOS and have a 28 (I just took it the 13th and hopefully raised it a couple of points??) I feel very confident on every other aspect on my application except for my score. I actually didn’t even qualify for early action because my ACT writing score wasn’t turned in on time. Does anyone know if, because I applied for EA, but didn’t qualify, the admissions office will view my application any differently?

@JK0919 how does deferring only 1500 make sense? They aren’t accepting 20,000 plus in EA. Last year they accepted 15,000 or so from EA and RD. They’re deferring way more than 1500.

@uofmPlease Well It depends on but did they inform you that you are 'qualified"?
MY act is not really high 30. But my gpa is 4.00. I hope it would compensate it

@96blue I need to state that it might be right or wrong cuz I saw it from another CC. Well but I think at least it makes sense that they do not simply give out deferrals to most of its applicants.

@96blue Do you know how many people get accepted through UMichigan’s early action plan?? I really wanna know

@jk09 A couple of weeks after I applied i received an email that said, “We appreciate your interest in being considered for admission under our Early Action program. Unfortunately, your application was not complete by November 1. However, upon completion, your freshman application will receive full consideration in our Regular Decision program.” I just wasn’t sure if the fact that I applied for EA but didn’t qualify penalize me in any way.

@JK0919 Michigan historically gives out very few denials in EA (last few years threads) and lots of deferrals. I have been able to find any stats on exact numbers. Who knows though? It could change this year

It means that you are not going to be considered in early action pool. It clearly states that your application will receive full consideration in their Regular Decision program. @uofmPlease I am sorry but it is obvious that you will not hear from them this month. But you do not need to worry anything cuz you still have a good shot!

@96blue Hope I could be accepted in this pool. Waiting for regular decision would be a trail of long long waiting…

Lol I thought we were talking about U Chicago for deferring 1500, not U of M. U of M definitely defers more applicants. Also, my ACT is 35 and I’m in state

@JK0919 I realize that I am not going to receive my decision this month, maybe I wasn’t clear enough.

@fdizzle You are in already. Do not even panic! haha
