University of Michigan Fall 2017 Transfer

I just found out I was accepted for LSA!!! Finally accepted after 3 applications. Found out through wolverine access

@historyrepeat My app was market complete on 2/1.

I am definitely re-applying for the winter term. I called my transfer counselor and she said that they reviewed my app multiple times, and it all came down to the issue of not having enough credits. She said I should be fine and have a great shot of being admitted for sophomore year winter semester, so I’m going to keep working hard and hope for the best. It sucks when you have a great GPA and EC’s, but still can’t get in based on credits. I think it’s worth the wait, for sure, though.

@kidinschool congrats! I am the same way this is my third time applying still waiting to hear back though. Do you know when your app was marked complete?

@schoolgirl98 this is my third time applying. I’ve had a 4.0 the entire time, 31 ACT, but I didn’t have junior standing. I know it sucks but you just gotta stay motived. Just take as many transferable credits as you can and keep that GPA up and you’ll get in

Just received my financial aid reward! It is actually more generous than the net price calculator estimated and it is better than the one that I have at my current school. Overall, it will cost less for me to attend Michigan than if I were to keep attending my current private university. My parents are very pleasantly surprised given the fact that I’m an OOS student and a transfer! Just wish the other schools I applied to were quick with their admissions decisions and financial aid like Michigan has been given the fact that I applied to the other schools at around the same time that I applied to Michigan. All schools are different though so I will just have to wait I guess but I’m very happy to say the least!

@cassidylynnn how does financial aid work? do i have to fill in the fafsa and css questionaire/form? Sorry lol I am very new to this but happy i was accepted! Thanks

@historyrepeat thanks! i dont know the exact date, but i submitted all the materials on the 12th of jan.

@kidinschool yeah you submit the FAFSA and CSS profile. After you submit those, you should be able to track their progress on Wolverine Access through the “Financial Aid Document Status” tab and they will also email you to notify you of your award when they have it calculated. They may also ask you send your tax 2015 transcript along with your parents’ 2015 tax transcript for verification purpsoses after receiving your CSS and FAFSA, but don’t send those unless they ask you to after they receive the FAFSA and CSS!

Marked complete on 1/31. Rejected for sophomore transfer into LSA.

@limitsbylaw I’m sorry to hear that. But I would totally recommend rolling over your application and sending in an updated transcript once you have more credits. As long as you keep that GPA up I see no reason you wouldn’t be accepted once you have more credits.

@cassidylynnn damn double congrats there. Not only did you get accepted but you got tons of financial aid. I will admit when you were describing your situation before I was a little worried for you that you’d be loaded with a huge tuition bill being an out of state student but it sounds like Michigan really hooked you up. I’ve heard they usually very generous with in state students but slightly stingy with out of state students but I’m glad to hear they weren’t with you.

@kidinschool my material was submitted just a couple days after yours. Hopefully that means I can hear back soon. If it’s not being too pushy what were your stats?

Seems like a lot of people are hearing back now, some good some bad. definitely making me feel more nervous thinking my decision will be coming soon.

@historyrepeat Lol I am waiting for my decision too. It seems like a lot of people are getting their decision in a decent timely manner. I think we will get ours soon!

This is what I just posted a few min ago:
Hi! I recently applied to UMich College of Engineering for junior transfer. But I got a D last semester because I missed ME final due to personal reasons and the prof directly gave me 0 on the final. I plan to retake the class some time but right now my GPA is 3.57. Without a D, my GPA would be around 3.7. I explained why I got a D in commonapp but I don’t know whether UM would accept such a failing grade… Do I still have a chance of getting into COE? I applied for chemical engineering… Thanks!!

So I am currently enrolled in a TOP40 private university. I got SAT 2210 in high school. I took ACT in my freshman year and I got 35 composite. But my GPA is a HUGE problem. I acknowledge that I didn’t study hard after I got into college but I really want to transfer to COE. I applied as a ChemE major and I am wondering whether I still have a chance if I write a letter to tell UM that I am going to retake the class (if the dean proves) and D will be overrode at the end of the semester when I finish repeating the class? My adviser talked to my prof and it seemed that he was unwilling to turn my grade to an incomplete… So I have to submit my transcript with a GPA of 3.5 :(… And I am an international student (which makes me harder to get in). Can anyone chance me? Thanks!!!

I just found out I was accepted!!! my third time applying I could hardly believe it when I saw the view decision link

Congratulations then! May I ask you the date of submission of your application on the common app (and also did you call the admission office to confirm whether your application is complete)?

@AlisonJ yes my common app and all my materials were submitted on January 19th and my application was marked complete feb 1st.

@historyrepeat OMG right after you posted, I checked mine, and I was accepted too!! Congratulations!! Worth all the hard work!

Does anybody know when michigan usually tells you which of your credits are transferable? I was accepted on 2/1 and have yet to find out from them…

Still waiting for mine

I heard that Umich preferred junior standing applicants. I am very worried about my situation as an applicant for a rising sophomore. Can anyone chance me?
