Omg IKR! It’s driving me Crazy! It’s spring break and I’ve checking my email every other hr!
@Jd12345 I heard that as well. There was one person on last year’s thread that said they were rejected and found out though Wolverine Access, but obviously there’s no way to evaluate if that’s true or not. I feel like I’m driving myself insane though since I keep checking. I’ve also had at least three dreams about it…I’m slowly going insane @-)
I received an email yesterday saying my LSA application was incomplete and withdrawn! Live chat said they didn’t have the transcript from UMiami, the school I was supposed to be attending this semester (informed them I was staying for spring at MSU) and I couldn’t possibly have a transcript from there anyway. I don’t understand what’s going on!
@kmwumich “I’ve also had at least three dreams about it…” LOL
Amarz12… The obvious thing to do is call and talk with a live person. Good luck.
More and more anxious as the days go by. I called UMich and they said 6-8 weeks AFTER they mark your documents received in WA not when they actually received them
@kmwumich Either way, when I found out, I received my decision (accepted) 6 hours before I got it in my email on wolverine access. (This was last year during the fall)
Denied LSA Comp.Science as a sophomore. 3.9 HS gpa, 28 ACT. 3.85 Honor College GPA. But only had 16 credits so far. Had applied last year out of HS for CoE. Waitlisted then denied. Maybe I’ll try next year, but I think I’m moving on… Sparty On!
@amarz12 just keep emailing and calling your counselor. I have the same issue before. I am studying abroad at another university so I could not provide an official transcript of this university now. Similar situation
Does anyone know if transferring from UM-Dearborn or UM-Flint could help or hinder your chances of being accepted?
@kmwumich It should help. There are even some guaranteed transfer programs.
@kmwumich Being a UMD student, I can’t speak on UMF, but I have asked myself this same question. UM will obviously tell you that any university outside of Ann Arbor is all considered similarly, but it is true that a lot of UMD students transfer to UM. Based on a conversation I had with one of my professors awhile ago, the proportion of a school’s students transferring to UM compared to the rest of its student body is significantly higher at UMD and possibly UMF than any other school. Of course, that’s because some students attend UMD with specific intention to transfer to UM, so take that fwiw. At the very least, I don’t think it hinders your chances at all. I don’t think they’re going to think to themselves that only because you go to a UM school that isn’t A2 that they know you can’t handle A2. I guess it’s possible that UM would be aware of the relatively higher UMD transfer rate, so they’d be more selective about students specifically from UMD, but I doubt it. What is true, however, is that it’s easy to fulfill your degree/program requirements at UMD with credits that transfer to UM, and that UM transfer advisors are well aware of the other UM schools’ academic standards. Their priorities for transfer students are to have a 3.5+ college GPA, their amount of credits, and the subject distribution of those credits. It definitely can be interpreted that going to UMD by default makes satisfying those priorities easier, but you can only decide that for yourself.
Called and they assured that decisions are about to be made “very soon”
Did anyone else receive a rejection letter like this last year: “Although we are unable to offer admission at this time, we invite you to consider a sophomore level transfer to the University, provided that you attain a solid “3.0” grade point average or higher while enrolled in transferable courses at another college during your first two full semesters of college work (12-15 credit hours each semester). This sophomore-level transfer would permit you entry to the Stamps School of Art & Design.”
I don’t know what that means. However, I did meet their requirements. I just don’t know if this means I have more hope.
@ArmenHammer thanks so much for your reply! I’m also at UMD but surprisingly haven’t really heard from any past threads or other websites whether others thought there was an advantage of some kind by applying from UMD. I applied last year but they said I needed more credits and to apply again this year. I’ve maintained my GPA and made sure all my classes transfer so I’m hoping it works out. I hope it works out for you as well! : )
Has anyone that applied to school of kinesiology received a decision?
@adidasmich no
rejected. LSA. Sophomore Transfer. rejected for not enough credits.
D2 is a sophomore engineer and has applied for a Fall transfer to COE. She texted me today saying that Michigan admissions asking for her to send them her homework, exams, and syllabus from both Calc II and Linear Algebra. Oddly, they said Calc I and Calc III are fine and they have no questions about those.
Is it a good sign that they are asking for these specific details, or do they do that for everyone?
@Much2learn it could either be good or bad, they want to see if the course material is equivalent to the University of Michigan. Good: they say it’s equivalent and then you either get accepted or rejected. Bad: admissions says they aren’t equivalent and you get rejected because you did not fulfill the requirements to transfer. Also, this does not happen to everyone, it only happens when admissions is unsure if the class is equivalent to the class at umich. Even if found equivalent it does not automatically mean you will get accepted, please keep that in mind.
