University of Michigan Fall 2018 Transfer Thread

Where is the notification located that your application is ‘completed’?
Thank you for any help!

Reposting due to no answers or replies haha.

Does anyone know what has to occur to have admission as a transfer rescinded once accepted? In other words what grades are required in each class for the current semester. Or does it go by cumulative GPA?

I don’t think there is one, you have to call your transfer admissions counselor.

So I applied for Fall 2017 last year and it still shows up in Wolverine Access with Fall 2018. However, my transcript is listed as not being received under the Fall 2018 credentials, but under Fall 2017 credentials it list my transcript as being received on 1/19/18! I emailed my admissions counselor and one other person about this but have not received a reply. Has anyone else had this issue? Do you think as long as the transcript is filed under my name it’s no problem or is this an issue since it’s not filed under Fall 2018?

Is there anyone got accepted?

@kmwumich , I haven’t had the same problem, but I would definitely recommend calling admissions and checking up on the status of your application. Just have your ID number ready and they will be able to look at all of the materials the school has received and they should be able to sort out what’s happening!

@blondebonske17 thank you! I was able to get ahold of someone yesterday morning and found out it was a transcript from the college I took a summer course in. The scary thing is one person I talked to said everything I needed to send was received and I happened to contact someone else to find out the one transcript was still missing…I can’t imagine what would’ve happened if I didn’t bother contacting someone else! Now it’s just a waiting game on them retrieving it and putting it in Wolverine Access, and then the anxiety of waiting to hear for a decision.

Here are my stats for you all to chance me, thank you all in advance: (For LSA Fall 2018)

I have asked my Umich counselor if my GPA is too low for getting admitted. I got 3.667 in the first semester of college and then had a 3.906 in the second semester. In the past 2017 Fall, I got 3.5 because of a super difficult Calculus course. I was top 5% student for that course but the department did not give us a curve so I ended up with a B, which hurt my GPA greatly. I have already explained my situation to my Umich counselor. Although he said my GPA of 3.7 is competitive, I am still not sure about it because I am an Asian international student. Several of my friends who got admitted had GPA higher than 3.8.

Thank you for answering my question!

Congratulations! Did u mean that all of materials are received on Jan 31 or u just submitted common application on that day? And did u receive an email or u just check on the Wolverine Access to see the application status?

Thanks!!. I submitted common app on the Jan 31, i sent all my materials week before. My LOR writers did not even submit yet. I received an email on Feb 10th.

Did anyone have the similar situation as me. According to the tracking information, my high school transcript was delivered and signed on Feb 2nd. And I called them just now. They still not processed my high school transcript.

@racheliiiiii I had a similar situation. My college transcript from where I’ve been the last two years was received and then it took a bit longer for my transcript from the place where I did a summer class to get there. I got the notification Saturday 2/3 that they retrieved the transcript but it still said Not Received. I ended up emailing my Admissions Councilor and he told me they received the transcript, Wolverine Access just wasn’t updated. Even today, it still says not received. According to the UM Website, it can take up to fifteen days after you send it for them to process it. I would wait another few days and then email or call someone again. As long as it was sent before the 1st, it should be fine! : )

@kmwumich thank you!

Just accepted today!
Application was marked complete on 1/25

College: Top 50 Liberal arts school, Out of state
Intended Major: Psychology
School: LSA
Applied as a freshman, entering as a sophmore

HS Stats:
GPA: 3.9
ACT: 33
EC: Started a club, leadership positions in a couple other clubs, tutoring, piano, nothing extraordinary

College:
GPA: 3.6
Credits: 16 credits, 16 more credits at end of spring semester for a total of 32
EC: Volunteering, work-study jobs, cultural clubs, again nothing too crazy
Recommendations: 1 recommendation from my favorite professor. Even though my worst grade was in that course, I think she talked about how hard I worked and how my writing skills greatly improved by the end of the semester.
Essays: Wrote authentically, thought outside-of-the-box and thankfully it worked!

I really thought I wouldn’t get in because I was coming from out of state and I didn’t have that many credits, plus my college GPA is pretty low. I think the essays saved me, so I recommend putting a lot of time and effort into perfecting those! Wishing everyone else the best of luck!

@jk9801 Congrats on the acceptance!! did you receive an email to see the decision or did check your application status just out of curiosity? thanks!!

@jk9801 Congratulations! Hope I can also get in.

Congratulations! Where does the “Complete” show up on Wolverine Access?
