Cvjn, did you check your Wolverine Access account and then found out or did you first receive an email telling you that a decision has been made?

Thanks for answering all of our questions so willingly!

bah this thing doesn't save my answers anymore...

You have to check the WA to get your decision as a TRANSFER. We don't get the emails like the Freshmen do.

If you're trying to transfer into the B-School and do not currently attend Michigan, it's virtually impossible to get in.

If you're asking if whether or not Michigan is the best college in the state of Michigan, than yes, it is. Michigan and Berkeley rank 1 and 2 for best public universities. Most people see them as equals in terms of academics.

Both Berkeley are Michigan are amazing, but it's not exactly like the UC system, as I think both Michigan Flint and Michigan Dearborn aren't full out campuses like UCLA, UCB, UCSB, ect

Hi everyone.
I'm new here.
I applied to UMich Fall 2007 LSA.
I submitted online application 12/27/06 and completed 2/15/07
and I checked yesterday WA and they had View decision link.

It was very quick after my complition of application, decision was made very quickly.

However, my question is, when I click the view decision link, it says 'A decision letter will be coming in mail'
Is that mean I got denied?

Cause, I know one person who got accepted last week, on the view decision link, he had Congratulation! and several sentences.

However, I did not have that message.
When I checked ask us on umich webcite. They say students can veiw their decision by online, email, or by email.
So do I have a chance to get it?
I mean the decision already has been made, but I"m not sure.

I attend University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. A freshman.

I did not have a strong GPA on my first semseter, but I just gave a shot because Umich was the school I wanted since I was in high school.

I got waitlisted when I applied on my senior year,

Can you guys please give me a hope?
Congrats to those of you already got accepted!
HOpe to see you at Michigan! this fall!

Sorry Shan26, I'm like 90% sure that's the deny message.

If you do believe that you're a strong applicant, and that your current semester is strong, you can attempt to appeal, or you can possibly ask them to hold onto your application, and have it reviewed next semester.

Well, since it was my first semester and all, I'll re-aply with better academics and activities. IF I get denied.
I believe I'm an average applicant.
It would be hard to determine with only one semeter of college credits too.
Well, I gues I'll just have to wait.

Thanks for your mesg Cvjn. by the way congrats to ur admission to Umich!

QNYergrl Good luck to you too.
I found some other people who has same status as mine.
They are waiting for mail to come. Wht's ur status on Umich?
I'm expecting to get mail either tomorrow or Friday.

cellardoor7
I am an international student from SUNY-Binghamton, no SAT , TOEFL252
GPA3.6. I have a friend in exact situation got accepted this semester without deferral (same school, no SAT, lower TOEFL than me, GPA3.8, less ECs than me)

that is so wierd. I have some similar stats to the few that have been accepted already fall 2007 transfer so I'm clueless as to what they're looking for.

I did research that says that these big top schools are deffering more and more applicants BECAUSE a greater % of students are applying to LOTS of schools so.......with no real way to predict how many students will enroll they need backup to fill the class, and they don't rank defferals they just evaluate them on an individual basis at that time and try to "complete the class"

That's what I read anyway...anybody is welcome to refute it.

That makes sense, cellardoor7. I'm guessing that with freshman admissions growing increasingly competitive, more current freshman are not in their college of choice this year and are giving it another shot as transfer applicants thus increasing the transfer applicant pool. If this really is the case, I was afraid of this...

I'm one of the member in that case. lol
I got waitlisted from Carleton, Umich last year, end up being at UIUC.
I really wanted to go to Umich.
Since this year is the first year, I'll try until I get in! lol
