University of Pittsburgh-Class of 2019 Acceptance

@Lilly246, typically students who are honors college eligible will be notified in their acceptance letter. If you just got the email acceptance, your letter will follow soon.

For info on scholarships timeline see previous posts I’ve made in this thread such as #293.

@hailtopitt1787 - thanks! Do you know how many (approx) invites are sent out?

@FromMD‌, 450 students are invited to compete. Thanks!

@hailtopitt1787 - Thank you as always!

I received my video acceptance, but am still waiting on my letter for details. Do you know how long it takes to receive the letter after the video. Thank you!

@dbsb11‌ I got my video on a Friday and got my letter either Monday or Tuesday can’t remember exactly, but they’re close together!

@hailtopitt1787‌ Would I be able to apply for the honors college after I join the university? As in sophomore year or sometime before? Also, would I qualify for in state tuition after freshmen year? I am from IL.

@hailtopitt1787‌ I already got admitted to the university, but would I still be able to send my Dec 2014 ACT scores for scholarship consideration?

Received the video on a Thursday, and then the letter arrived in the mail almost a week later, either on the next Thursday or Friday.

@Lilly246, In order to qualify for in-state tuition you would have to meet these requirements: http://payments.pitt.edu/tuitionguide.html

And yes, there are several ways to enroll for honors courses after you are here. The full details are here: http://www.honorscollege.pitt.edu/course-eligibility

Regarding the question on scores, I would encourage you to call our office. Our staff can look at your application and talk with you in greater detail about your specific situation. 412-624-7488.

-Pitt Admissions Staffer

@hailtopitt1787‌ Pitt is the first choice. Went on a tour and loved it. Went to the Bridge Program this summer and loved it. Unfortunately the application was put into need to see first marking period grades. Any idea on how soon post grade submissions feedback will occur?

@ohrly123‌, you should hear something within a few weeks of our receipt of the grades, we try to keep the wait-time as short as we can! Good luck!

@hailtopitt1787 On my Pitt portal, it shows that the deadline for the fee waiver and transcript is 12/18.What would happen if I send those in after that date? Also, how often do Pitt update the portal?

@hailtopitt1787‌ Thanks for the reply!!!

@Sunrise97‌, for questions regarding your specific application and the messages in your portal, our admissions processors would be happy to assist you! Call tomorrow during normal business hours: 412-624-7488.

@hailtopitt1787‌ when will one hear about Merit aide? Or should we assume since it was not in with the acceptance letter that she will not be offered any?

@phillymom5 Our Scholarship Committee meets weekly and makes decisions on scholarships. If you have not heard yet, there is no reason to worry. Due to the competitiveness of the scholarships, some students go through two, sometimes three, reviews before a final decision is made. While some students find out about a scholarship quite early, possibly within three weeks of being admitted, many more do not find out until much later. Bottom line, those students selected to receive an award will find out no later than March 1st.

Did anybody else receive their letter for the Honors College today?
