Yes, the notification/invitation to apply to GAP (medical) came shortly after acceptance. What is the timeline from there? When will students start hearing about interviews with medical school staff? And I am asking for students who already did the first part (already received invitation to apply and have submitted that portion).
@CurleyFries, 2-4 weeks after the general admission decision. Please note that only candidates who are selected to continue in the GAP review process will be notified.
You didn’t mention which GAP you were applying to, could you let me know which school so I can better answer your question? (medical, business, engineering, etc.) Typically, you would be invited to an interview by early March depending on the school.
@5Dis I’m not sure when exactly they’ll be calling for interviews, but they will be calling those students directly to schedule March interviews. Good luck!
@hailtopitt1787 To trail on the GAP questions, I’ve been wondering about when I’d hear a response from the physician assistant guarantee. Way back in October, I was notified to submit two recommendations and a personal statement, and in December I received an email saying that they’ll notify me in January regarding an interview. Do you know the timeline of the physician assistant guarantee?
The School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences handles the selection of candidates and do so on their own timeline. If they said January, they should be in touch very soon. Good luck!
Pitt Admissions had asked me for my mid-year reports, and I had a strong first and second quarter this year, but I tend to do poorly on my midterm exams because I have testing anxiety (2As, 3Bs, 2Cs on my exams), do you think this will hurt me?
@s9841210 I’m on the same boat as you (I was notified to submit my first semester grades back in October). I currently have 3 A’s and 2 borderline B’s (89%) and a B-. I just hope that I can get my borderline grades up to A’s so that I’ll be able to submit my first semester grades with a 3.8 unweighted gpa (4.0 weighted).
My D got Accepted couple of weeks back, but haven’t heard anything about Honors college or Scholarship. Any idea typically how many weeks after getting admission do we hear about Scholarship or Honors college admission?
Students who applied by the November 1 priority deadline for Honors have already been notified. Students who applied by the January 15 regular deadline will be notified by March 1.
There is no set date as to when you will hear about merit awards, but the Scholarship Committee meets on a weekly basis and awards are ongoing until March 1. It is not uncommon for students to be reviewed several times by the committee before a decision is made. Only those who receive an award will be notified.
The Visitor Center sent me an email about personalizing a visit, which opened with “Congratulations on your admission to Pitt Honors!” However, I have not received a letter or email from OAFA or the Honors College. Did I really get in? Is more information coming, or could this be a mistake?
i just submitted my application today via common app… does anyone know if the admissions committee will still review it for fall 2019? I know that I submitted it really late…
@Ponogirl808, I think because admissions are rolling you can still apply, but I believe you’ve missed the deadline for merit aid consideration. However, @hailtopitt1787 will have the most definitive answer. Good luck!
hi guys. Do we have to apply to the Honors College for merit aid consideration? or, can we just be a regular applicant to the university and have a chance at receiving merit aid?
@hailtopitt1787 if i submitted my app in early october, but was asked to send my mid year report, does that mean i will not receive merit aid because it is past the deadline?
