Today, I’ve finally received my decision letter from UPitt after I had applied on (12/01). They asked me to send in mid-year grades, which I thought was a bad sign. In the letter, I was waitlisted, does anybody on CC know what the percentage of waitlisted applicants actually get into the university?
They are just asking for midyear grades - technically not a waitlisting or deferral, so send them - either way you will have a decision soon enough.
Common data set for 2017-18, 2000 offered space on waiting list, around 800 accepted waitlist and 110 were accepted from wait list.
Wrote too quickly - so letter said “waitlist”?
Waitlist for which college? It really does depend on what area of study, Arts & Science verses Engineering verses Nursing or any of the other programs of study. You should contact Pitt admissions to see if they can give you a better sense of what the waitlisted numbers might look like for a specific program.
@amandakayak yeah it said “waitlisted” and had me fill out the options for it. One was guaranteed admission after taking a gap year (Spring 2019), regular waitlist for fall 2018, or to cancel my app.
@NeatoJ t was for Arts & Sciences.I will get in contact, thanks so much.
@killerbee545 so I got the waitlist figures from the common data set for Pitt 2017-18 - so about 1 out of 8 chance to get offered from the waitlist.
