University of Richmond co2021 RD

We live in MA and haven’t received anything yet either.

Hopefully because they are big fat envelopes!

Same, I live in NY (Long Island) and have not received anything yet. Is there any update on your portal if you get in?

@Glang77 YAY Congrats!! I was hoping you’d get in!

@cloudysmom Hi! I just joined the facebook group but I don’t see any opportunity to get a tshirt! I’d love one- how did you find that?

@jacksongirlska It’s on the admitted students page on their website. In the brochure that’s sent w/ ur acceptance there are websites to go to for more info, or you can type in richmond admitted students & it should take you there. It tells you the next steps, forms, class registration, google map of pinned spider acceptances (not yet updated) and a link to a free t-shirt after you pay your deposit. It’s a nice one! Congrats!

Daughter received acceptance today in Northern New Jersey

When do you think the latest date would be that you’d be offered a spot if you are on the wait list? My daughter is heartbroken as Richmond was her first choice and she visited three times and showed great interest. GPA 3.8 unweighted ACT 30 -4 APs. Heavy commitment to dance & music instrument for her whole life. We would need some FA. We do not qualify for a lot but we do need what we qualify for. Do you think it would be as late as June when she would find out if she got a spot? Or earlier??

Second twin received acceptance today. Dang pickin’ Postal Service that left one of them hanging for a day! Similar stats: 1550 New SAT | 34 & 35 ACT | 4.0 GPA | 5-6 APs by Jr year w/ mostly 5s & 3 more this year | National Merit Finalists | Three good SAT Subject tests each | Homeschooled | Weaker ECs

Yay! Accepted in AL

SAT: 1450 (730 M, 720 R)
ACT: 31 (30 M, 30 R, 27 S, 36 E)
GPA: 3.9 (4.3 Weighted)
Classes: Most rigorous available, 9 AP classes, 2 Duel Enroll English + Psychology

Extracurricular: Karate black belt, web designer, high school help desk, three Stanford EPGY courses in C Programming. Not really any community service/volunteer work outside of occasional free tutoring (that’s not on app).
Job: Movie theater staff leader, former tech support/web designer for killed brick-and-mortar startup,

Essays: Pretty good overall; Richmond’s was about childhood fear of spiders and Common App essay was about failure and rebuilding.
Recommendations: Pretty good ones from 2 teachers who have taught me for 2 years each. One from Stanford EPGY Instructor.

Excited for the opportunity! I also got more aid that I expected, so this one just shot up to my second best (and first is Vanderbilt with 10% acceptance rate, which is a long shot). Anyways, congrats on all of those accepted and best of luck to the ones on WL. Hope for the best!

@cavs4lf I’ve looked into it, and they seem to announce them usually around May but sometimes June, so they CAN end up taking that long (technically, they could go beyond, but don’t seem to in practice). Also, FA is still a viable option in theory; it’s the merit aid that is out, but most people don’t expect that anyway. However, note that Richmond has stated that “while [they] are need-blind in Early Decision and Regular Decision, [they] reserve the right to be need-aware for students on the wait list.”

If you have not already done so, I would encourage reading their 2017 Wait List Information. It says that it’s from 2017, which may mean c/o 2017, but it is linked from their current Wait List page:

I wish the best of luck for your daughter and hope she succeeds!

Congrats to all of those accepted so far! Hope I will hear back this weekend about transferring!

@rvalover7 Thank you so much! And best of luck to you!

DS received his acceptance today; we live in Washington State. On the website it lauds the 134 admitted students who scored at least one perfect 800 on SAT section, of which he did, so he was surprised that he did not receive any merit aid at all. This was the first college not to offer him any merit aid. Looks like a great college, but not for $62,730.

@Fangosa1 That’s a bummer. Does he not qualify for any financial aid?

@MON824 No financial aid on the account that our income was artificially high in 2015. We had to sell a piece of property in order to pay for major house repairs (re-roofing and replacement of failing LP siding) and to pay for his 2 older siblings college. It will be worth asking for a professional judgement from a financial aid department, but it makes sense to ask a college that has already offered him merit aid.

Congrats to all those accepted & big hugs to those who didn’t get the news they wanted…

Accepted! International student studying in the US.

Yay! Accepted in San Diego

still waiting here in MA. Anyone else not receive theirs?? sometimes the USPS is really bad. Otherwise it’s a no!
