@Jlh0204 I am sorry this happened to your son! This is so hard on kids to keep having to wait for the next deadline.

Waitlisted.

Son was first deferred and now waitlisted for school of engineering.

OOS
3.98 GPA
1560 SAT
Class VP
Civil Air Patrol Officer
NHS
3 Varsity sports
Etc

What gets me is that they sent him a letter, unsolicited, urging him to apply to SC because he would qualify for scholarships. Hope his application helps lower their acceptance rate.

I’m with you. That’s crazy. Good luck to your son!!

It’s ok. Thank you. He was accepted to NC State so he’s thrilled about that. His sister is a sophomore at Uof SC. She said she knows a lot of people who got off of the waitlist the year she applied. Things might be different now but NC State is his first choice anyway!

That’s insanity!! Kind of sounds like what Auburn did to my daughter. These are kids- they need to quit with that.

I usually say there is something the AO is looking for and it’s the way things go and that’s college application life during these crazier times - but for you- it really is crazy he has been waitlisted! Usually I think its just all part of this crazy process but seriously this one is a head scratcher

Waitlisted after deferral. I believe they’re practicing some yield protection based on other results from his school.

Wgpa 4.15
1520 SAT
7 AP classes

I mean - that’s crazy. His stats are awesome.

That’s nuts. Those are great stats.

Back at ya!

My son also got waitlisted with high stats. What are we supposed to do?? Is it because he did not apply to the honors college? Maybe shows lack of interest.

Mine got waitlisted after deferral too. So frustrating!

I think so. I don’t think this happened to any high stat kids who applied to honors college. But my son has ZERO interest in honors colleges
.so, not sure what we were supposed to do.

Same here, OOS son got waitlisted after deferral. He has a 3.9 gpa which I thought would get him in RD.

OOS D waitlisted and sad. High stats as well. A bit surprised based on other acceptances. Does anyone have info on waitlist from past years
success stories?!
