I don’t think u guys realize that your admissions are supposed to come out later in the summer…transfer students already have set registration dates (which are supposed to be way after the registration dates for current students) so admissions only come out a little bit before your A&O for registration.
so like 1 more month of wait?
Typically if you’re good enough to get into a capacity-constrained major, you’re good enough for GA. GA admits a lot of people who don’t even get into their selected major.
Yeah, uw hasn’t started reviewing some applications. There’s no point in reviewing them early when there’s a lot of other stuff that they have to do and your A&O dates are so far away.
Some people were already accepted to GA though, and I believe some more transfer decisions are going to be made this week according to an email someone got the other day.
That’s the point. Some have been reviewed and some haven’t. It’s supposed to be slow.
Pretty sure we’re all aware of that. No one was expecting all admissions to be finalized by this week.
Not sure you’re all aware w all the calls to uw and complaints when they’ve already outlined that decisions are typically released June+July. I’ve worked w admissions and I’m just saying that it’s pretty annoying to everyone when applicants keep complaining before the posted dates.
I just sent email to the admissions office, they said the notification will release through July.
https://admit.washington.edu/apply/transfer/
This link says “May + June, 2019: Transfer Autumn Notification Period”.
Also, everyone here is perfectly entitled to complain. We’re all anxious and eager.
And I might add, that sort of info that mickyrivera obtained, that admissions would keep going into July (which conflicts with what the official site says), was obtained by him contacting admissions.
If it annoys you so much when people report that they contacted admissions, you don’t need to look at this thread. It’s perfectly fine for people in the thread “UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON AUTUMN 2019 TRANSFER” to discuss all things related to this topic, including talking about the agonizing wait and reporting to the rest of us what admissions tells us.
Hey guys, I got my acceptance at round 7:00PM on Wednesday May 22nd. I noticed this because I’d been checking the application status on myUW website. I got the official mail 5 days after. I’ve also signed up for UW housing and got assigned to a 4-bedroom apartment in which we each have our own individual room ($1080/month/student).
About my stat, I graduated from a WA CC with High Honors. My GPA was 3.97 at the time I applied. My personal statement was all about me moving to the US, adapting to a new life, and my plan of getting into the UW pharmacy program. I did tell them that I’ve been working two jobs to financially support my family but did not include any volunteering activities, though I got 100+ hours, due to the word limit.
For those who got accepted, congratulations and those who have not received the acceptance, do not lose your hope yet. I think UW is working on the transfer applications starting in the past couple weeks. I’d suggest checking myuw website frequently and enjoy this time as much as you can.
Ask me if you guys have any questions, I’ll be more than happy to help.
@purplehusky19 congratulations on your acceptance Were you assigned to random roommates or were you able to choose? Are you also able to share when some of the Advising and Orientation dates for transfer students are? Thanks in advance!
Congrats! Your application sounds strong. @purplehusky19
@georgieboy Thank you. I first filled out the online application and paid a $500 deposit so that they could process my application. After that, they sent me an email saying that my room selection period was going to be at 2:00PM on Thursday May 31st and would be closed at 11:59PM on Sunday Jun 2nd. During the room selection time, since I was not the first priority (I believe returning residents were), the choices, unluckily, appeared to be only 4-bedroom units ( I’d love to get a 2-bedroom apartment or studio). However, you get to choose your room as long as it’s not taken by someone else. You can also see which rooms that are available (A, B, C, or D). I’d suggest logging into the HFS website and rolling the page all the way to the bottom and checking out the layouts of the room to chooses your favorite room’s location or size.
Also, you can see how many people were already in your room and whether they were freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior. You can only see their names, phone numbers, and emails after you selected a room which you could switch anytime during your room selection period.
About the Advising and Orientation, I believe you have to do an online course U101 first which will be open tomorrow for me anyway. Sorry I don’t have much info about that since I’m not there yet. lol.
So, if you already got your housing contract, does this mean applicants who are accepted later in the summer have a lower chance of getting housing since it may already be taken up by applicants who were accepted earlier?
I received an email from my major just now asking when I was going to accept offer of admission from UW (GA) so the major can register me. It is really frustrating that I can’t move forward with my registering for classes, etc. What does the portal look like when you are admitted to UW Seattle? <3
Did anybody hear back from Allen school yet?
My unofficial transcript just loaded. It has a student number and my major (Speech and hearing sciences). Hope this means I’m in!!
My unofficial transcript just loaded an hour ago too! I’m the same major @Nimbob
I hope we are both in!!!
