Unofficial Transfer Nyu Thread

that's not true actually..

i got in and i can't setup an email account.

Did you get your package in the mail yet? Or, did you find out by phone? Because in the package there are instructions for setting up your e-mail account and your NYU Home account. If you have a package and can't set up your e-mail then something is wrong. They may have forgotten to enter you into the system. Or, maybe they are backed up now.

ajl4--i'm not so sure that's true. i got accepted, but i'm not able to set up my email. The message i recieve when i try to set up my nyuhome/email account is:

Information for: MY NAME HERE

Our records indicate that you are not currently an eligible student, employee, or affiliate of New York University.

If this information is in error, please contact the ITS Accounts Office.

They must be backed up now and haven't updated it in awhile. Early on, it was updated well before packages were sent out. EasyMack could log in during late March. He was one of the first people to be accepted

Yeah...the people over there aren't idiots. They know we're crazed to find out if we're accepted--and they're careful not to reveal details over the phone and only through snail mail. It wouldn't make sense that there would be such an obvious loophole in the system.

so hasn't heard yet? I'm so nervous. I think I'm going to get rejected from life.

Me too. I'm already assuming I'm rejected. The fact that I can't access this NYU Net ID thing is just another indication besides the extremely long days I'm going through each day as my mailbox continues to fail me. Is it smart to drop out of college for a year and then re-apply for transfer because I cannot stay...here. Grarrr

dont' assume! keep ur hopes up!

I've heard about everyone who has gotten in. Who's been rejected so far?

Ya I haven't heard of anyone being rejected either. Yaa, I'm just afraid if I get my hopes up too much, I'll be let down. There really is nothing worse than all this waiting

I got rejected from Boston College so I feel like I'll get rejected here.

cipher, what was your major and such? i just got waitlisted at BC.

Economics. I'm applying to CAS.

1310 SATS and 3.7 on 64 credits.

I called and they said a decision was reached which they're mailing out tomorrow. I'm going to get an aneurism.

anyone wanna call whether I get rejected or not?

i hope not! because you've already been rejected from BC and it would make me really sad if we both got rejected from two schools. (I am still waiting Tufts)

Hey well I'm waiting for NYU and that's it. So I guess this is kind of the last chance for all of us. I hope we get in...however...odds aren't looking so good! Why is it taking soo freaking long? Good luck to everyone. Be sure to keep us informed of any updates

They said mine would be here by the end of the week. I'm hopeful.

I just found out last Friday (May 6) that I was accepted to Steinhart! I'm so excited! I think I just got really lucky because my stats aren't quite as high as others on this board.

High School GPA: 3.3
College GPA: 3.4
SATs: 1210
SAT II's: US History-610, Writing-570, Math IC-540

Lots of ECs---varsity cheerleading, ambassador, musical groups, some community service

I think my essays really helped me to get in. But I couldn't be happier because this was my number one school! :) Anyways see you there in September!!

PS....anyone know anything about housing at NYU? What the good transfer dorms are? Etc? Thanks....

Two friends I have at the community college I attend got in with 3.48s and low 11's on their SATS. They applied to the teaching program (not sure which school that is). There is no justice if I don't get in.
