Unofficial Transfer Nyu Thread

Okay I am freaking out..I called last week and they told me I should receive a decision by today...no decision!! I don't get it!! Has anyone heard today??

hmm no I haven't gotten my letter yet either. However, I heard that they didn't give away information regarding when you'd get decisions. Who'd you talk to? Every time I call, they just say: "It's under review. We send them out till June!" It's so annoying.

i just called. they asked me for my social. i provided. they said end of the week it would arrive. we shall see!

Yeah, that is what they said to me too. What are your Stats guys??

I'm too afraid to call. I'm still waiting anxiously.

i called 2 weeks ago and they told me mine would arrive by tuesday the 10th, i am very doubtful that it will be there when i check the mail tomorrow

I feel like calling just annoys them.

edit: p1sses is blocked by the word filter?

got mine today (i'm in chicago)

=)

Congrats! (You got in, I'm assuming?) :-)

If so, see you in September! If you wanna talk on AIM, PM me with your screen name.

did anyone get offered to go to london next semester and then start CAS in the fall?

i mean spring

Yeah I think calling annoys them too. I called them two weeks ago and they told last week of april or by the end of the first week of may. COUGH. it's may 9th mehhh. really they suggest only calling to check and see if they have all your app materials because they have strict instructions to not give away too many details involving decisions. So what's the point? It won't expedite how fast our letters will arrive..which may be never! (getting bitter..)

i also applied to NYU for transfer. I called them last wednesday and they told me a decision has been made, but I havn't gotten anything in the mail yet... however, last night I checked online at NYU's homepage and clicked on the NYUHome login. Then I activated my NYU NETID by entering in my ss# & dob, then a screen came up w/ my NETID name, university id, and a message saying "Newly admitted students!" So I think that means that I was accepted. But I still desperately yearn for the acceptance letter to come in the mail!
has anyone else done this with similar or dissimilar results?

Hmm I think there was a post about this before in which we confirmed that people were accessing NYU home with their net IDs all the way back in march and decisions couldn't possible have been made back then. So that might not necessarily mean anything. Good luck though

MW, does it let you go into albert and check your registration status?

no, i cant login to NYUHOME login or Albert. I can only successfully login where it says "activate your NYU NETID".

just got into stern.

Congrats! :)

I can't log in with a NYU Net ID. Is that a bad sign? It says that records differ between my NYU ID and their Net ID. Meh

If you can log in and set up your e-mail, it means you are accepted. If you cannot, you are rejected or they have yet to make a decision on your application. NYU home is updated before acceptances are sent out so that students do not get their package and then try to sign on only to discover that they cannot. Yes, it is true some people had access to NYU Home in late March, but if you look at the names of all the people that had access, all were accepted. In early April, I did not have access, then NYU sent me a postcard saying they did not have my transcripts. About a week after sending out my transcript, I had access to NYU home. So, I am almost 100 percent certain that being able to log in and set up your e-mail is indicative of acceptance.
