Still waiting on my transfer credit report…
@Gowolfpacks18 I’m still waiting as well…
@ShovelBum18 we may have it before the end of the day…hopefully
Also, this may be a silly question but hopefully someone can answer — if you deferred your enrollment deposit until financial aid, do you still have to pay $250? Or does the financial aid automatically cover it?
@Gowolfpacks18 From what I’ve read, financial aid covers it. Also, you’ll need to apply for deferment for tuition, etc. on your account.
Just a Heads Up for everyone - health insurance is mandatory and your account will be billed for it. If you will be covered under someone else’s insurance, you’ll need to submit a waiver by Sep 10 (I believe).
The financial aid they gave me is incredible. Pretty much a full ride. I’m very happy! I still haven’t received a credit report… I haven’t paid my deposit yet. Think I will today! I doubt any of the other universities I applied would give me as much financial aid as they did. Also, I did the CSS like 1 week late! Like many others, I didn’t know it existed!
@dmimima awesome I had similar results…so much more than what nc state offered which made the decision of choosing unc so much easier
you need to change your screen name ASAP!
:)) :))
@dmimima Are you in-state? Any OOS students get their financial aid package yet? I’m curious what percentage of need they are going to cover. My EFC is 6400 so you have an idea.
Are transfer credit reports emailed to us?
@nick20watson my student is OOS. After EFC, they covered 100% with a combination of grants and loans. My student also received a CCI grant for a new laptop.
Is there anyone who got the laptop grant who plans to add their personal funds to upgrade?
How do you check etc? whenever i check financial aid, it still says processing
@eespos1 Do you have any ‘Financial Aid To Do’ items?
I do, apparently my FAFSA wasn’t processed. Even though it was complete @NosyParent16
@nick20watson Yes, I am in-state.
@Gowolfpacks18 I would really like to do that, but I wonder if they would allow it? Mine says covers an entire “CCI ThinkPad 13 Laptop Package”. I’m assuming that is for a particular laptop. I don’t think I could use the funds towards another more expensive laptop? But, I guess it doesn’t hurt to ask!
@dmimima you can use that laptop grant to pay for a Mac but you have to pay the difference with your own personal money. So that would be about $600 of your own funds…which doesn’t sound that bad but the deadline to order is next month (I think) and that’s a lot of money to gather up if it isn’t sitting around…also, I’ve read from previous threads that Mac isn’t always compatible with UNC’s software. I know for a fact that they are different in the sense that they don’t have the normalities we are used to like Microsoft word…so idk how that would work…what’d you think?? Oddly enough I have been saving here and there to get a mac but when I received this grant last night it’s made me rethink. Lol
^^ just adding on…I may email the IT people next week to get more info on unc’s software in reference to Mac…like you said, it doesn’t hurt to ask
Im OOS and the estimated aid I received includes loans. However, according to the carolina covenant requirements I should have gotten no loans. Do you guys think this is because I have some To Do items left for financial aid? I really hope I can get the carolina covenant or else i dont think I can attend here.
