Emailed the cci laptop people about having to pay the difference on a more expensive model. Wanted to pass along their response:
“You may apply the grant amount to any CCI machine and pay the difference for any model that exceeds the grant amount. The difference will be charged to the credit card that you provide at checkout approximately 2-3 weeks before your scheduled orientation session.”
So I’m assuming one will be charged on the laptop deadline day (may16) but that is mere speculation. Regardless it gives me (and maybe other people) a few weeks to save for the model they want. Hope this helps someone out.
@NosyParent16 I’m going with my parents that day.
@KimberlyNStew , @Gowolfpacks18 we’re going to be there June 1-4 and we’re going to that Monterrey Mexican restaurant near campus for dinner one evening. If anyone will be there more than that day and would like to join us, please let me know. It would be nice to meet some other parents/students outside of orientation.
is anyone not able to access their student center right now? Trying to accept admission but the student center tab isn’t in my connectcarolina anymore…
It appears that I can now register for classes. However, even though I received it, my transfer report isn’t listed on my profile. Meaning, I can’t register for anything with a prerequisite. Anyone else had this problem?
I have signed up for the June 3rd orientation
@TranslationLost Give it a day or two. It will show up.
@Gowolfpacks18 Do you know what the session # for each course means? (session A, F, etc.)
@NosyParent16
Thanks, just a little anxious with all of these classes filling up.
@NosyParent16 I, too, was curious about what that meant and I found no info about it on the unc website I have an appointment with an advisor on Monday via phone and will ask this question
@TranslationLost I also have not been able to register for all the classes I need because of my credit report. The email I received said it could take up to two weeks and if you do now receive it by then you should call and ask admissions.
Has anyone else only gotten their transfer credit via email, but it hasn’t shown up in their connect carolina? This is my current predicament so…
@eespos1
Same here. Still waiting, and unfortunately I can’t register for anything that requires prerequisites.
@eespos1 SAME, I emailed them. I’ll post what they respond.
@Kraz4CocoPuffs @TranslationLost Ahh ok, cool i’m not the only one then. So its just that we can’t register for classes without the report updated on connect carolina?
I just got done talking to an advisor…@nosyparent16 the advisor told me that he or no one else knows what session A, B, c etc means…I personally thought it had to do with how many days a week your class was but he said no one can figure it out lol.
Also he told me to not send my final transcript right away because if you send it too early it may not indicate you received your associates degree on it…which means you may have to send it again. But he was very helpful.
@Gowolfpacks18 Thanks for the update!!
@Gowolfpacks18 thanks for that info! I probably would have requested mine too soon! NC comm college Associates degree gets us out of Eng 105! (Since I didn’t have a comparable Eng transfer in)
They rejected my son’s appeal to get out of Eng 105. His OOS community college English courses didn’t include enough ‘cross functional’ writing or something like that.
Does anyone know around what time the admission packets will be arriving in our mailboxes?
@NosyParent16 has your son set up an advising appointment? Perhaps you can talk to someone who can tell him his next steps…I felt like I was able to see much more clearly after speaking to the advisor earlier. I spoke to shugart…Not sure if he’s an advisor for your son’s major but def worth speaking to if he is.
@cuddleduds welcome! What’s crazy is I was going to send my transcript immediately after grades were posted (which is probably early next month)…I’m going to check with my school to see when exactly transcripts note that an associates degree was achieved. And not to get too off topic but because of nc community college agreement I was able to bypass a lot of General eds to where it is possible for me to double major…so I am very thankful lol
