Unsure about transferring from the University of Delaware

I am a sophomore at the University of Delaware. I started out my freshman year really enjoying myself, but as time went on, i started to feel out of place. I thought that going to a big school as an introvert would be a good idea, but now I think it might’ve been the wrong choice. I haven’t met many people that I have a connection to, despite joining various activities. I want to like it here- it has lots of opportunities, is a great school, and has a lively atmosphere- but i haven’t found my place. I feel like if I’m not really enjoying it here, what’s the point of being so far away from home and paying a ridiculous out-of-state tuition that I could be saving for my future?

I live in Westchester, NY, and am interested in schools with similar rankings as UD. I’m thinking about some SUNY schools. Another option would be commuting to a local school for next semester, because I’ve been feeling really burned out and unhappy being away from home.

Has anyone been in a similar situation or has any advise?

I know this post is a few months old and you may have transferred already, but I am in a simmilar situation. Personally I do not like UD and I have sent out applications to other schools closer to home. I think it is natural to not fit in somewhere and also it’s natural to want to be closer to home.
More than a third of college students end up transferring so it is not an uncommon thing at all.
I wish you the best of luck!
