There are just some people in this thread making everyone even more anxious. Why bother asking for your chances when you are perfect in basically everything?
^^^ I say we try to keep this thread relatively stats-free for the time being. there’s nothing we can change about our stats now, given that decisions come out a in few days.
Look, decisions have probably been made already. We will all have our hearts racing on that Thursday, knowing that our dream school will respond to our hard work and dedication over the past 4 years. The wait has been killing me too but just surrender to it. No Tylenol or any other meds, please. We will be fine. All of us have strengths in our app, as well as weaknesses, and there is literally nothing we can do about it now. I hope and pray for the best for all of us.
I expect this thread to blow at 7:01 pm on Thursday. See ya then!
Do you ever really think about how the application we’ve worked on for probably over a year, and one we’ve been assembling throughout all of high school, and working towards, was decided within minutes by a couple people at Penn? And that they decide how our lives will go? It kind of blows my mind, the power of an AO.
Anyone planning to skip school on Friday if Thursday night doesn’t go well?
@kungfukenny I’ve thought about that quite a bit, it really blows ngl.
you already KNOW that if i dont get in, i’m gonna mysteriously get sick the morning after
@Penned23 nah it doesn’t make sense, imma just go the next day regardless and face the music.
I just wanna stay home and like be myself, I have no tests that day and no real obligation to turn in anything that day so if I dont think i want to be at school that day, i dont think i will go
@Penned23 …No? I would definitely not do that. Skipping a day of school because you got rejected from one college seems pretty immature. Move on with your life and go to school. One rejection will be nothing in the grand scope of things.
@Penned23 It’s tempting but I wouldn’t. You’ll have nothing to do at home but mope. Better to be busy at school with your mind occupied (at least somewhat) on other things
It’s my second time applying to Penn and its definitely is a lot more stressful after being waitlisted last year. But I should be less worried this year ( I have a safety now) except I’m not. Sigh.
@mellowfellow67 Are you a transfer or an international?
eh i guess ur right about going to school. it wont really matter anyways, i just overreact to things p easily i think
@collegeboi2023 int, but a US resident
@mellowfellow67 ah got it I was like whaaaat applying ED to Penn twice howwwww lmao
@collegeboi2023 I didn’t apply early last year lol, my why penn application was also rushed. Last year was a mess.
In regards to the debate about going to school the next day or not – I think that saying “it’s not that big of a deal, go to school” is easier said than done. For some of us, we have been waiting for this day for years, and rejection can be a crushing blow. Depending on someone’s mental and emotional state, it can take a while to get over rejection, and it might be really, really hard at first. So, I believe missing school the next day is justified if someone is seriously undergoing grief due to the stinging loss they feel.
Guyssss 3.5 days
Why is everyone already planning ahead to skip on Friday? The results aren’t even up yet - no matter what type of applicant you are, you still have a chance. I’m personally at the confidence level of 0.1%, but I think we should all try to stay positive and happy during the next few days and try to not stress. Worrying about our current stats and having regrets float around our minds won’t get us anywhere by this point. Even if Penn isn’t the school we end up attending, there are so many other amazing schools out there. I’ve incorporated ice cream into my diet for the past week if this helps anyone else lol
