@Penndreams2023 this thread already had a huge discussion about it that was deleted. I wouldn’t stress about it as it seems that it’s just a false alarm and a place holder with no indication of your actual result. Only two more days to go!! No need to search for a shortcut
The “inspect elements on the portal site” discussion happens on a yearly basis in a bunch of threads.
The reality is that the decisions are added to the portal through an external server on decision day. You will NOT find out your decision by checking the website’s source code. All you’ll do is freak yourself out or give yourself false hope.
Seriously, be patient.
I don’t think that the Harvard mba hacking and inspect element are even on the same playing field lol since inspect element is just from the website and no actual hacking but I see your point! @aoeuidhtns
.ccs files contain no information regarding the contents of the website; they simply hold design specifications for ALL possible elements which the page could contain. It is impossible, in 2018, for anyone to find their decision through inspect elements. Maybe in the 90s it could have been lol
Just about 2 days guys cmon, we can wait it out
Let’s just face the fact that at this point all we can do is pray/hope for the best
Just because it’s on reddit, does not make it true. As I have said many times, you should assume that any “loophole” that a 17 y/o applicant has “discovered” has long ago been closed by the more experienced AO and/or IT guy. It might have worked 10 years ago or even 5 years ago. It’s not gonna work in 2018. You only have 2 days to go. Just chill.
2 days, 7.5 hours - we got this!
Hey did Cornell ED come out? I’ve been hearing abt ppl getting accepted
Yup it did
@rohuncho It was very similar. Harvard called it hacking but in reality students were able to gain access by typing in hidden web address they found while inspecting the page. The school claimed its students were being unethical in trying to find out their result before the announcement date, which is the same as this case.
Rip in peace Penndreams2023
There’s nothing wrong with using inspect element. Have no fear kingfukenney, these guys are clueless and spreading fear
It is not easy to hack. The schools are very smart now, and it is not difficult to keep the secret.
Hi guys. Do you guys know if U Penn cares a lot about competitive sports in their ED admission process? If student A and B, an athlete, are both applying, but A has a much better academic profile, whose chances are higher?
Thanks!
Guys, I’m new here and I just came by.
The alumni who interviewed me said that I’m the only one applying to UPenn from my country. Does that give me an edge in the admission decision. Just wondering~
Thank you in advance!
It really does. Specially if it’s underrepresented, the bars will be low. It still depends on your scores and whether or not you’re applying for aid.
Maybe a slight edge. For class 2022, International: 87 Countries, 398 Students…There are 195 countries in the world today
Who’s freaking out right now?!?!?!
Wow! We find out the same day as Harvard, Columbia, Brown, and Dartmouth! I wonder why so many of the Ivies have the same decision date. I feel like they are usually more scattered dates throughout the week before Dec. 15 (but I could be wrong)
