How many professor recs are required for Penn transfer?

You don't have the app to check this?

What year are you? What school at PENN? Hard to answer when so little info was posted.

hazmat...I'm a freshman applying for transfer to arts and sciences. I couldn't find an answer on their admissions site.

Did you find your answer now?

did you get rejected when you applied from high school? Because they strongly discourage applicants who were rejected in high school from applying in freshman years

yes I did, however I called the admissions office and spoke with them. they do not formally discourage it like you might think. Does nobody know the answer?

^rarely will a college tell you not to apply.

hump those bumbers. I mean jump those numbers.

Well, just so that you know, it's EXPLICITY written on their website

Critical reading skill will get you far.

Being obnoxious will get you even further!!

And nobody really knows how many recs are required for a transfer app? I think we've gotten a little off-topic...

None. Really.

you need 2 recs
*sorry i forgot to answer your question in my previous post

did you start you application yet? You need to write 3 essays for Upenn... It's a lot of work

i dont get it...if u do the common app its three essays : why transfer, why penn and the experience/autobio butt if u do the paper app it only has the second two questions and not the general why transfer quest.

It's a mystery to me too. All smoke and mirrors anyway...

Just to comment about the not transferring after one term if you've been rejected, the logic goes...

If you were rejected as a freshmen, there must've been something wrong with your app that turned UPenn off to you. Especially a competitive Ivy like Penn, one term at a University will most likely not change their feelings about the decision.

What if you change!?

I am applying to wharton again, after a straight out rejection last year in ED round.

If you were rejected ED, your chance of being accepted this time is slim to none unless you've cured a disease or something since then. They defer a huge number of people ED, so if you're rejected then you're really at the bottom. Plus it's much harder to get in as a transfer than as a freshman. I'm not trying to be harsh, but you should have realistic expectations.
