Thank you, @bsms2018 .
No bump.
Us either @JMRome . Iām sad but moving on. They didnāt do anything wrongā¦just such a competitive year in every space.
Sharing that my girl was awarded a one time $2,000 award from a local alum group! She applied for some Pitt alumni based scholarships in early March after having received the applications via email. Very excited and grateful for any and all scholarship $.
I think committing to Pitt is just a formality now. If any waitlist offers come in in May/June, they can be considered then. We are all ready for it to be Pitt.
Well, my girl just committed to Pitt!!
Congrats to D of @Winky1 Great choice
@Winky1 ācongrats!! Feels good to be done, doesnāt it? Now go and enjoy the rest of senior year!
Thanks @Carachel! Thanks @BoroDad!
D received a scholarship from Swanson in the mail, additional 4K a year. Itās one that doesnāt show up in the portal with the 25K, but the letter states it and that other scholarships from the college of engineering could replace it. Would this be in response to cost analysis? D only ever got the confirmation email that cost analysis was received.
@greentea3 yes, we had a similar situation back in ā2013 with my dd - sent in cost analysis and then awarded Kerschgens alumni engineering award for $4k/yr. There are a bunch of smaller scholarships like this in engineering which are only listed in the back of the yearly engineering statistics book (which you can view online).
@greentea3 , if you donāt mind, which universities you used for cost analysis? Thank you
@amandakayak Thank you for the reply! Good to know there are other scholarships available.
@bsms2018 We used Temple and Santa Clara. D didnāt apply to colleges that others used so we were stuck for options. D decided try anyway.
Thank you @greentea3
Congrats to all who have committed! D still hasnāt completely gotten there, but Iām pretty sure itās going to be Pitt. So @BoroDad I think I recall you are from NJ, right? @Winky1, where are you from? Are you NJ too? (If so, your D probably got the NJ Alumni award, which means my D didnāt get it, lol. At least thatās one question answered. Who else (besides @AmyBeth68 ) is from NJ?
Hi @JMRome , we are from PA
@JMRome Yes we are in NJ.
has anyone in OH heard back from pitt alum scholarships?
@jmrome - we are nj btw
@Winky1 Well thereās still hope, then, lol. So a few on here from NJ. Curious, does anyone know what percentage of Pittās students are from NJ? And who is planning to take advantage of the transportation home that Pitt offers over the breaks?
When I was at Pitt back in the Stone Age, I had quite a few friends from Jersey and Philly.
