URGENT! 2 courses combined: maximum credit, one courses meaning?

On assist.org I was looking upon my credits and it says that two of my communicaton classes 106 and 108 combined: maximum credit, one course. When I have taken theses classes I would have 61 transferable units. I’m kinda worried. Will these classes transfer? I applied to transfer fall 2016.

Have you called or e-mailed the admissions department to try to find out? I would definitely talk to someone. What are Comm 106 and 108 listed as at your school?

It means that they will count the units for both classes as 1 class. So if the classes are 3 semester units each(making a total of 6), they will only count 3 units. I read a thread last year about someone who was rescinded because they had 59 units instead of the 62 units they were suppose to have because 2 of their courses only counted as one.

I got lucky that I found out about this before I applied because 2 of my courses only count for 1, so I made sure to take extra courses so I wouldn’t be under the unit minimum. I think they do that when the courses are very similar in criteria.

@florelsflower Worst case scenario, if this puts you under the 60 unit minimum, take an online class during the Spring quarter. It’ll be a little extra work, but some of them can be easy. Online classes on the quarter system are offered at Foothill College, De Anza College, and Lake Tahoe CC.

I’m taking a 5 unit ethics class at Foothill right now, and I am enjoying it. It’s also pretty easy (I have a 99.xx% in the class right now).

I’m not sure if this issue for you applies to all of the UC’s, or just one. You need to find out, and register for an extra class ASAP (if you won’t have at least 60 units).

Hi everyone! Just found out today that I only get credit for one of the classes. Thankfully, my transfer counselor was able to help me! Added a 8-week online class at my college and it’s starts in April. Now I have enough credits.

Yay! Glad you caught it quick and were able to add a class

@florelsflower Yay! I’m glad to hear it!
