Urgent!!!!how many times did you take your sat?

How many times did you guys take the SAT and SAT II?

Did you take it 2 times in Junior year, and 1 time in Senior year?

I only have one chance each to take the SATI and SAT II in my junior year,(due to my schedule conflicts) and this somewhat frightens me, because I heard most of the people take it 3 times, 2 in their junior year and 1 in their senior year!

And because SAT II can be taken on one day, it is not like I have a lot of test dates left...

and you probably heard that SAT are now score choice reports, meaning I can choose what scores to send to colleges, so do you think it is a good idea for me to take the
SATI on JANUARy, MARCH, OCTOBER, and SATII once on JUNE? ....

Do I need to take at least 3 SAT IIs???

and do you think colleges like SAT more than ACT, although they say they do not care which one?

I know i asked a lot of questions, but please give me your advice!!

hmm i'm a junior now, and personally i only took SATI once, and i'm not taking it again because i'm satisfied with my score. so i guess what i can give as advice is that it's possible for you to get a score you want without taking it 3 times, most people i know usually take it twice. though for the SATII i would really advice you to take it in June b/c you just finish learning the material and it's fresh in your mind. as for SAT vs. ACT, i think SAT is just more well-known, but if you get a very good ACT score it's not going to impact you negatively.

I took 2 SATs junior year and 1 SAT senior year

SAT IIs: June frosh, June soph, May junior (APs), and June (junior)...the last was probably overkill but I wanted to place out languages.

I took the SAT I in May as a Junior then again in October. I took 3 SAT IIs in June.

Was this really urgent?

Realize that some colleges are opting out of Score Choice and may require you to send all scores.

I've only taken two SATs- one spring junior year, one fall senior year. I got the same score on both (2220) but it superscored 40 points higher.

You're fine. Study hard and make the most of your limited opportunities.

I took my SATs 3 times (all junior year)
my parents want me to take it once again senior year, but I really don’t know if I should 4 times
and my SATII once (in June) but i’m retaking one subject in the fall
i took my ACT once, and I’m taking it again in the fall of senior year.

I took two SAT I’s, March 2009 and June 2009
and one SAT II, May 2009
and plan on doing the SAT II’s one more time, November 2009

I took the SATI once when I was 13 (as part of the CTY talent search, I doubt it matters) and again in December 2008. I’m happy with my score and I don’t plan on taking it again.
I took the SATII in June 2009. I’m probably going to take it again in November for Chinese+listening.

Clearly. pimouse absolutely, positively must know the testing dates of many random strangers on the Internet before the registration deadline for the January test, approximately five months from now. :D

pimouse, take the tests when you want to take the tests. The dates you’ve chosen look pretty good, except I doubt your SAT I score will go up very much between January and March of the same year.

As to how many SAT IIs – some colleges require three, some require two, and some require that the SAT IIs you take include either specific tests or tests chosen from a specific range of subjects. So check your target colleges’ requirements. Since a fair number of CC students have reported scores dropping on their third test in a sitting, presumably due to testing fatigue, I recommend taking only two SAT IIs on a given date.

I took my normal SAT’s once at the end of my sophomore year, and twice my junior year. The first time I wasn’t serious about testing, because I knew I had time. The second time I should have done better, but didn’t; so I decided to take a prep class, actually study for it and see how that worked out. And it worked out great.

Figure out what kind of learner you are if you don’t know already; that is, if you work best in small groups or alone, etc. That helps a lot. Also, if English is giving you a problem (reading), I find it best to look at the line before and after what they tell you to; you pick up on a lot of stuff that you wouldn’t otherwise.

Just my .02

Oh and for SAT IIs I took them Nov. and June of junior year and November of senior year. Check with your school about how many they require; some don’t require them at all.

I took the SATs October 2007 and January 2008. The superscore was fine with me so I didn’t do anymore. I think 2 is a good number, because that way you can superscore, and 3 just seems a little excessive (to me).

I also don’t understand why people would use score choice… If I pay for the test, I’d like the college to see my test. Plus, many colleges superscore on the SATs, but if you use score choice, you lose that option.

Im going to touch base on everything mentioned.

How many times did you guys take the SAT and SAT II?
I took it one time but I intend on taking it 2 more times max. You said that you know people who took 2 Junior year and 1 Senior year but I’ve taken 1 Junior year and Im going to take 1 senior year (2 if I don’t like my first score). Generally, I plan on taking all the remaining test dates, October for SAT I, November for SAT II and December for SAT I if I don’t like my score from October.

Did you take it 2 times in Junior year, and 1 time in Senior year?
See above.

and you probably heard that SAT are now score choice reports, meaning I can choose what scores to send to colleges, so do you think it is a good idea for me to take the
SATI on JANUARy, MARCH, OCTOBER, and SATII once on JUNE? …
To clear something up about ScoreChoice; Yes you can decide what scores to submit and send off BUT any college you apply to has the RIGHT to contct CollegeBoard and pull up all your scores for every single SAT I & SAT II taken. That’s why I’m not too excited about Score Choice, I still feel that any College/Uni I apply to can still access my scores. In a nutshell, I DON’T trust Score Choice.

Do I need to take at least 3 SAT IIs???
For competitive reasons you should. Get 600+ on them to do decent; break 700 to catch the eye of an admissions officer.

and do you think colleges like SAT more than ACT, although they say they do not care which one?
It’s obvious that the SAT is more popular and well known as opposed to the ACT but colleges (in general) don’t care. However, for competitive reasons it’s recommended that you do both, do well on both and send both in.

Hope this helps!

I took the SAT I in May, and probably will retake it in October to raise my score to a 2300+. I took my SAT II’s in June, and I’m not going to retake them.
