Hello.

I'll be taking an ACT test on JUNE 14,2014 for which i'm prepared. I also took AP Calc and AP Chemistry.

My mother registered for SAT too on JUNE 7,2014 without my knowledge. I'm thinking to change the test date as i felt that it would be an overload to prepare for both different ones simultaneously. Will be it worth if i take SAT ii Physics instead of the normal SAT in the october?

Looking forward to hear from this community

Thanks
Sai.

It’s up to you, but if you’re already registered, I believe it is non-refundable. Why don’t you continue studying for the ACT and then go in for the SAT (with minimal studying) and see how you do? It could be treated as a practice test and getting you used to the format. If it doesn’t go well, you don’t have to send the scores to colleges. (Known as “score choice”)

On the other hand, I’m curious as though why you’re taking physics sat 2. Have you already taken it in high school? It may be worth doing a subject you are familiar with or won’t need a whole alot of review. (math 2 and chem might also be good options)

From what I understand, changing date of your test is kind of a pain and you have to pay an additional fee. And like shawnspencer said, it’s non-refundable if you just decide not to take it.

EDIT: Actually sorry I just noticed that it said you must change it by the deadline indicated on your admissions ticket (about 14 days before the test) so I’m assuming that it’s too late to change the date/test.

Actually were you planning on taking the SAT at all? If you were planning on taking it in the fall of 2014, then this would probably be helpful for understanding how the test actually feels in a testing situation, and if you take it a second time, you’ll be more prepared.

As for the physics sat subject test, assuming that you’re prepared, then go for it! I feel like taking the AP class that corresponds with the subject test usually helps prepare for the test though. They offer the physics subject test 6 times a year, I think, so if you decide not to do it in October, maybe you could choose to do it on a different date.
