Hi everyone, I'm an international student and gonna take the US His in May 09. Provided that I havent learned anything about US His, how much time is fine for me to prepare well for the test? Is three months enough?
Btw, I'll study the books from Rea and Dummies, how much time do I need to grasp all info in these two books?
Any recommendation is highly appreciated :x
Thank you CCers :x

Go for Kaplan's. I did and got a 790, and half of American history I had to self study (in approx. 2 months) My schools curriculum only went from 1876 to present, so I studied colonial times - reconstruction. Id recommend studying colonial period more than most books suggest. Good luck!!

I think it's enough if you really study and memorize all the terms/people/events..etc

I used REA for AP and then also used Kaplan for the SAT II
Kaplan's was really good for SAT II. There were some stuff that I didn't really know much about until reading Kaplans and they actually showed up on the test! THe practice questions are also really good. REA is really really detailed but it's also good.
With those two books I think you're good to go (got a 800 using them!)

Good luck!

Wow, it turns out that Kaplan has performed well on Sat IIs, especially US His ^^ I'm gonna buy the book for myself :x
Hic, since none of the guys above referred to the book, I must ask you: How about Dummies? Is it good for US His? I dont wanna throw money ( costly shipping) over the window :((
Well, so I'm gonna study 3 books :"> Hope it will be fine for me :x
Thank you guys so much :x
