ah, I guess I mixed up the two. Thanks for pointing that out.

if they ask why i dropped it, couldn't i say i want to take advantage of some of their core courses?
[/quote]
haha, yeah apparently they're okay with that. If you're going in behind then chances are you will have to stay for longer than two years, and if that's the case, then that means more $$$ for them.

No. But you could "strategically" drop a course. I'm not so sure that'll fly, but it's possible. They decide what transfers and will always keep the grade of it. However, if you get a good grade in a class that doesn't and it's at least 3 or so credits, you could petition for them to include it. Your transfer GPA only matters if you are elligible for honors.

Ya, there are two or three classes that I need to petition. When I put my transfer GPA, I just included classes that could transfer (its not much different from my actual GPA); so we get considered for honors then?

Good to see someone interested in film as well. I'm pretty much in the same situation as you. I didn't apply to USC film because it's pretty darn competitive. So I applied to CLAS, though I'm hoping to minor at least in something that is related to film, and perhaps go to film school after completing an undergraduate degree.

BumbleBee001,
Which major in CLAS did you decide on? What other schools are you considering?
I am receiving my associate's degree in cinema studies and humanities in June. I read on the USC site when choosing cinema- television as a minor, the student needs to send a personal statement about their interest in film along with a printed copy of the USC application. They accept minor applicants throughout the year. I sent in a personal statement, transcript, and a copy of application to the film school. You should defintely declare it as a minor. :) Good luck!

Sup guys. So today I dropped from my Math 152 class, down to Math 136...I received No W. On the app, I had listed Math 152 to fulfill prereqs, as well as in the section of my courses In Progress. How should I go about this and letting USC know about the change??

yes its a pre req, but i completed everything else that i possibly could at the current university i'm in.. and to be honest, i'd rather take german, which i know i can get an A in and feel more comfortable with. i dont care if i take it at USC, but i dont want to feel forced into a class just for the sake of quickly finishing it. i think if i get straight A's with 14 creds it wont kill me

Mcguigs, if it was a pre-req for Marshall, then your automatically going to be dropped from their consideration and your app will be for your second choice major. They require pre-reqs to be done to be an applicant for transfer. I would call up USC to see if you can whether or not you change your choice majors

I am undeclared at UCR so I applied for undecided at USC as well because I have no idea what I want to major in. But yeah sophomore transfers are pretty tough. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
