USC BFA Acceptance

Has anyone heard from USC regarding acceptance into their BFA Acting Program? And if not, do you know when they expect to notify applicants?

^^mid-March for their top choices. I saw that one year ago (2009) someone rec’d a BFA acceptance and the letter was dated 3/9. There was a BFA rejection posted to CC on 3/14. I had to go look because I auditioned there too. Good luck!! If you’re one of the lucky ones, it won’t be long.

Thanks! What about Chapman regular decision?

Hi bfamom and violetsky - I posted this on the other thread.

2 years ago my d received her acceptance the first week of March. Last year the young lady I coached received her acceptance the last week of March.

School of Theatre makes their decisions first. Their acceptance must then be approved by admissions, so for some it takes longer.

Usually USC sends out all their rejections around April 1st.

RE: Chapman RD - my d was accepted in the middle of March 2 years ago - so I would expect the same this year.

Hope this helps!

We should try not to talk about other schools when the name “USC” is in the title of the thread. I do not know anyway. Try a forum search; those work pretty well if you tell it to display the results as individual posts.

(Edit): Ha ha, looks like actingmom and I were typing our answers at the same time!

Thank you Actingmom! Yes, that does help. Is it customary for the schools to contact you in any way while they are making their decision?

Some schools may email, snailmail or call and say they are interested… this, however, does not secure an acceptance and most schools do not do that. I have never heard of USC’s School of Theatre contacting anyone during the decision time - the USC admissions office may contact you for midyear grades, but that is pretty much it. Hope this helps!

Thank you Actingmom!

As far as I can tell, almost no one has heard yet from USC for BA or BFA for 2010-they seem slower this year than last.

I applied for the BA and I am hoping (naively perhaps) that they haven’t sent acceptance out yet.

I was just accepted to the BFA program and the letter is dated 3/12 and I received it on 3/22. Good luck, hope that helps!

My acceptance letter to the BFA program is dated 3/12 and I received it on 3/23
Good luck to all that haven’t heard yet!

Sarah my daughter is a sophomore BFA, let me know if you have any questions about the program!

Drama and I have already been in touch!

Just curious - it took a long time for you to get that packet, are you international?

Congratulations! Great school! Great Program!

Well thank you! I’ve already been in a contact with a couple BFAs on facebook, so I don’t have any questions at the moment.

I’m not international, but I live in Florida so it’s quite a way from Cali.

Thank you! I’m very excited about coming!!

Would love to know if anyone can tell me, which would be a better community college to attend between Santa Monica and Los Angeles City Colleges. D has been admitted to a few 4 year theatre programs, but price is prohibitive. We need to consider 2 years at a community college, with the intent of transfering to a stellar BA or BFA program.
Your knowledge will be most appreciated.

Not the BFA but my daughter received acceptance into USC Theater BA program yesterday.

Mine got in 3/27 as well, did not travel to usc for an audition.
