Hey guys. I’ve been stalking this forum for MONTHS now and finally decided to create an account.

I’m hoping to receive my decision tomorrow instead of having to wait until Friday, but we’ll see. I am literally going crazy for an acceptance, but if I am not accepted, it’s not the end of the world and hopefully I can contribute stats and stuff as well if that helps anyone else.

my portal says that the status of my application cannot be processed at this time… not sure what that means at all! does anyone else have this? if people who are receiving their letters in the mail could continue updating us on the status of their portals, it would be really appreciated :)

Copied & pasted from the application status box.

"You can track the status of your application here. Check back periodically to see any new information that is requested. Please be aware that all final admission decisions are sent via postal mail.

The committee has acted on your application, and we have mailed notice of the decision. If for some reason you do not receive our written notice, we will be happy to provide the results of this online through USConnect March 29th at noon Pacific Time. "

@sixpence12 Thank you so much for the information. That’s exactly what I have in mine, so it makes me feel much better about the whole portal issue. Congratulations to your son on his acceptance!

@sixpence12 Congrats again and thanks so much. This should confirm that the status change is not dependent on acceptance/rejection as both situations have had their status change.

Just checked my app status and they stated how they acted on my application and they already sent my decision. I’m very scared and nervous right now. I really want to go to USC! I don’t think I’ll be able to sleep tonight. lol

Sorry to buy guys, but if my portal still says

"You can track the status of your application here. Check back periodically to see any new information that is requested. Please be aware that all final admission decisions are sent via postal mail.

We are unable to process the status of your application at this time. Please try again later, or Contact Us with any questions or concerns you might have."

is there a possible problem or is the portal just moving slowly?

I’m so confused. My application status check still says this:

You can track the status of your application here. Check back periodically to see any new information that is requested. Please be aware that all final admission decisions are sent via postal mail.

We have received your Common Application and USC Supplement, and it appears we require no additional information at this time. We will be reviewing applications through the month of March, and we expect to be able to meet our commitment to notify freshmen by April 1st. We often like to see the mid-year grades of freshman applicants. If you have not already done so, please submit your final, fall term marks when they become available. Submit a Mid Year Report school form, or click “Mid-Year Grades” in USConnect. Sometimes, in the course of our review of applications, we find that we need additional information. In such cases we will email a request. If you receive a request for more information, please respond promptly.

Nothing about reviewing it or anything? This doesn’t mean they didn’t review my application does it?

I live in San Jose, CA. The mail for today has already come here and I didn’t get anything from USC - is this a sign that I’m going to be rejected? I heard all acceptances are sent by faster mail or something like that?

If the USConnect says “The committee has acted on your application, and we have mailed notice of the decision. If for some reason you do not receive our written notice, we will be happy to provide the results of this online through USConnect March 29th at noon Pacific Time.” Is that it for me meaning I’m finished.

Based off of the other replies on this thread, I think that just means that your application went through successfully and that you should be receiving your letter in the next few days or so!

Does anyone know if both the admits and non-admits receive the “…committee has acted on your app…” message? So in that case we can stop drawing wrong conclusions haha

I have that same message, but thus far everyone else on the thread seems to either have the “your answer is coming” or the “April 1st” message and so I’m hoping the portals are just having trouble updating due to heavy traffic or something! but a confirmation would be nice
