My USConnect status changed and I was just rejected for everyone who was wondering.

^What’d it change to?

Thank you, and congratulations again! (I have the same message, but I honestly doubt it means anything…)

Accepted! Got my package in Socal today. Look for a big yellow packet. I think rejection letters are just sent in a folded envelope. Best of luck to all who are still waiting and congrats to those already accepted! :)

If USC dropped 45K envelopes on their local USPS, it would take some time to process. Perhaps they got around to part of them, but not all. Plus all the receiving USPS offices are different. Good argument for releasing online and following with a letter. Tho’ it is super fun to see that yellow-gold envelope. Much better than a computer screen.

As far as usconnect, maybe means something, but could also be it takes some time to update all accounts. They could do it by acceptance/rejection, but also by school, alphabetically, location, etc.

@aquastar2008 Congrats on your acceptance! I know you must have worked hard to get where you are. Could you let us know what is posted in the admissions box of your portal? Just to clear up some of the confusion everyone here is feeling. Thanks!

I’m so nervous!! I honestly can’t describe it! I literally stalked my mailbox today!! But it wasn’t in the mail yet (I’m in FL so not that much of a shock). But I just checked my portal and it says:
"You can track the status of your application here. Check back periodically to see any new information that is requested. Please be aware that all final admission decisions are sent via postal mail.

The committee has acted on your application, and we have mailed notice of the decision. If for some reason you do not receive our written notice, we will be happy to provide the results of this online through USConnect March 29th at noon Pacific Time."

After reading what u all put… I have absolutely no idea if this means anything!!

But i really want a yellow envelope!! :/

^sixpence has stated they received an admission package and their status changed to the march 28th. So there is no correlation between the admission status change and rejection.

Lol but i must say, this is the first time I’ve ever seen people on these forums ask other students for what’s written on their portal rather than their stats.

Thanks!! That’s what I was thinking, but I didn’t remember what the “original” post was. :)

Just got my rejection letter. Rejected students receive a regular white envelope with a USC logo on the top left hand-corner. There’s a white letter and then another FAQ yellow sheet inside the envelope. I’m a bit surprised. My SAT scores were right there with all the students and my GPA was higher, plus had lots of extracurriculars and good essays, but obviously there had to be a reason. Anyone think that it could be since I got 5Bs and 1A this semester for senior year? I took 4 APs and 2 electives. I personally think that could have been enough to reject me, especially with the high number of applicants.

Also, since a lot of you are wondering my USC connect changed to this (sometime after 2pm today maybe?)

thanks cali4niastudent! It seems that my portal hasn’t changed at all - it’s the same as it was before so don’t worry!

@xzyabc44 I’m so sorry :(( Sometimes schools are really random with who they choose. Also, if other kids in your school applied, they usually compare u to them, so maybe that was the case. From what u posted before, I thought u would have gotten in! But don’t worry, whatever college u go to, I’m sure you’ll be successful :))
And also, thanks for making me even more nervous, because my USConnect changed too…

Ok so if people from my area got accepted from usc but i didn’t do u think that means i got rejected?

@Ashleyannp Yeah, I got into UCLA and am waiting to hear from Johns Hopkins, Duke, Berkeley and a few others, so I’ll just move on from the USC rejection, but it’s just interesting. Thank you anyway. Good luck.

@swimmergirl89 not necessarily, i’m pretty sure they sent all the letters out at once, so I don’t think that really matters. Especially if you live in CA, because a lot of people haven’t gotten it yet in CA. Just wait and see until tomorrow :)) I wish u the best of luck!

@xzyabc44 Congrats on UCLA!! And yeah I’m waiting for Berkeley too!! Tomorrow!! I’m so nervous. If i get my USC letter tomorrow, I’ll be finding out from 4 schools tomorrow (Berkeley, USC, Princeton, and Brown…) I’m just hoping for 1 acceptance since they’re all amazing schools and I really like them all :)

@xzyabd: Duke decision already out, check your Duke portal

Mail is unpredictable. I am sure they mailed all results on same day. They would not mail acceptance ahead or quicker than rejections. Now how they get sorted whether based on size or just randomly at your neighborhood post office is out of their control. I would not draw any conclusions on acceptance or rejection based on who got it today. It seems it is just Socal pretty much for now. Hopefully 2moro, if it is Friday, not sure some people will survive it!
