@xzyabc44 congrats on UCLA and Berkeley didn’t require 2nd semester grades so that won’t be an issue to worry about!

I’m so confused right now. Some posters say the status change means something while others say it don’t. I’ve been worrying about USC all day and have barely did any of my hw. lol

I know it’s beginning to get kind of annoying but does the message of “we have acted on your application…” mean anything in terms of rejection or admittance? I’m really stressed right now. I’m going to work on my word search booklet to calm my nerves. :)

Can the people who have recieved their letter decisions put the stats in the decisions thread?? Please?

Thank You!

Congratulations to all :)

xyzabc44

Congrats on UCLA! I got in too! Good luck with rest of your schools! I’m also waiting on Berkeley and USC for tomorrow! I want to say I can’t wait but I’m very scared and nervous for tomorrow. lol

It’s hard to tell @curiousJDG953. It seems everyone that was rejected had a change. Only one acceptance said it changed but that was after they stated it didn’t. So not sure if that poster is just trying not to ruin everyone’s day or if it actually changed. That’s the thing about forums, hard to know what’s accurate… I think ya just have to wait another day! Good luck - you’ll get into the school meant for you and it will be great!

There have been both people accepted and rejected that had the status change.

@admission2013 Do you know more than just 1 person who got accepted with the status change?

@cali4niastudent :
- Smother was accepted and received the “We are unable to process the status of your application at this time” message.
- sixpence12 was also accepted and received: "You can track the status of your application here. Check back periodically to see any new information that is requested. Please be aware that all final admission decisions are sent via postal mail.

The committee has acted on your application, and we have mailed notice of the decision. If for some reason you do not receive our written notice, we will be happy to provide the results of this online through USConnect March 29th at noon Pacific Time."

I really would not worry about it no one can be sure. Just hope for the best!!

Even though I already received my decision, I have another question. I believe that I applied as undecided. Is that less/more competitive at USC or does it not even really affect your chances all that much? Thanks

can someone link the official usc class of 2017 results thread? thanks :)

@xzy I don’t think so. In fact, my friend said her college advisor says that usually helps someone because if they fill up in the area u specify, it’s more likely they deny u. So it’s not a disadvantage at all really

@pinkpinkluvr are you talking about the stats thread for usc?

Made it into USC SCA! I really don’t know much about it, can anyone tell me about it? (If it’s good, curriculum, etc)

I noticed what I thought a bit of a discrepancy. On the USC blog from the Dean of Admission, it states " 75% of our admitted students have standardized test scores in at least the 95th percentile."

Then, in the rejection letter it states “of those offered admission, most achieved… and had standardized test scores at or above the 97th percentile.”

So, is it the 95th percentile or the 97th percentile or are they 2 different stats?

So USC strictly goes with number , not holistic like they said huh ?

@melonpanman Congratulations on being accepted to SCA! SCA is arguably the best film school in the country. The curriculum will depend on your major. What major were you accepted too? I’m a Film and TV Production student.

@filmwalker : Ah, really? I’m really shocked to get in, then! I was accepted as an animation/Digital Arts major.

How many people are generally accepted each year to the program?

Are you a current student, if you do mind me asking? And thanks for answering, I’m so clueless, haha.

My daughter’s says the same thing under Fin Aid page… What could this mean??

@melonpanman Unfortunately, I know very little about the animation/digital arts major except for that is a very good program. There are some other threads on CC that specifically discuss SCA. You may be able to find more information there. Also, you could check out the official SCA website.
I am an incoming student, not a current student. I am really excited to meet you all next year!

@midtriplet yeah i’m talking about the stats thread for usc. i can’t find it. :/
