@mayamcg So far I’ve been admitted to my safeties, SFSU, SDSU, and CU Boulder. Unfortunately I’ve been denied at UCSD, Davis, UCLA, and BU, which was not fun to go through lol. I had a pretty rough time transitioning to the workload of high school earlier on and my grades definitely reflected that; I’m hoping the more holistic admissions process at USC will prevail.
I live in the South Bay, on the outskirts of San Jose. What about you?
@mdorbust I was also denied at Davis and UCSD, and I live a town over from Berkeley. I am also really hoping that holistic admissions at USC helps me through.
@mayamcg If not at USC, then hopefully it will at other schools. There’s always the transfer route as well. Admission is gonna be brutal this year as the school hopes to rise in the rankings but I hope we get to be a part of that upward momentum. I don’t know if I can make it until Tuesday afternoon!
@stehyh Not sure, but during my experience at Explore USC, my host made it pretty clear that internal transfers are not very hard to do. The academic flexibility as USC is pretty insane. Much easier to do internal transfer than at other schools.
@mayamcg Wow, those are really great schools! Congrats! I really wanted to get accepted by UW but got rejected. Somehow I got waitlisted on northeastern and tulane. I hope I get into USC this year. Fingers crossed. [-O<
@majesticmarmarr I feel you!! Just got waitlisted at UCLA and which makes me uber nervous about USC! I’m probably going to be camping out in front of my mailbox Wednesday lol
So I just checked my USC portal to check on my financial aid and it says it requires a Program of Study Needs update. What do you guys think this means? I just checked my portal and financial aid last night and there was nothing there so something obviously changed over the course of the day. Is this a good sign? By the way, has anyone else received this?
Thank you! Yeah, UW or Boston is probably top of my list right now, but USC is my first choice and I would be crushed if I didn’t get in. Best of luck to all of you guys, I hope one day we are all laughing about how nervous we were as we cruise down campus One can dream, right?
Random question: but in regards to internal transfers among schools, if you have been awarded one of the big two scholarships, does the scholarship transfer from school to school? Or do you have to stay in your specific college to keep the scholarship?
@filmdreamer23 no my D doesn’t have that on her financial aid portal. However, it does say that the evaluation of her FA application is still in process. Shouldn’t they be done with that? I thought that the FA info would arrive with the admission decision(?)
P.S. I searched on here for that document request you have on your FA page and could only find a message from 2012 saying it was a document required for grad students and that it was a glitch that it showed up on a prospective undergrads portal (they called the FA office and got it straightened out).
