***USC Class of 2021 Discussion/Results Thread***

if someone else in my area got their acceptance package today and I didn’t get anything, does that mean I was rejected?

ACCEPTED to the SDA for BA in Theatre. Stats are pretty much all in the Middle 50%, but had an amazing interview and essay. I live in Norfolk, Virginia

Did anyone in a 1 day zone get their white box today?

@grunsi I feel you. I live in middle of no where…I mean IOWA. I am an international student as well. Has anyone from IOWA heard anything yet??? I live in a small town where the post office only works half day on Saturdays and closes on Sundays. I have never fight for anything myself before I decided to apply USC…I really really really want to get into USC…

Received nothing in SD :frowning: My first actual L…

@texas111 Good luck! We’re here in DFW waiting to hear about my DS. Nothing in the mail today.

@grunsi I also applied SCA, film and television production program…which is very competitive. Good Luck!!! I will cross my finger for you and everyone who is anxiously waiting for the results

Dont know if this means anything but we are in Richmond, VA and my daughter received a priority mail white box this afternoon with her acceptance. Looks like USC is getting acceptances out quick.

PLZ POST IF YOU ARE FROM NJ AND GOT ACCEPTED

guys what the hell does it mean if I got absolutely nothing in the mail from them, no rejection or acceptance or anything at all and people in my area and even my neighborhood got theirs??

I have never heard of anything like this though … so strange … top 5% in my school are getting rejected while other kids ranked much lower are getting in. It’s as if USC is saying we are not going to take the top 5% from that school because they will not end up coming to USC anyway. Maybe my school’s top 5% has a bad track record of not choosing USC. Of course, I am just conjecturing, but I can’t fathom any other reasonable explanation. @shiftydraw

Tell me how mail gets to New York and Florida from Los Angeles faster than it gets to Texas

@GiroBoy two of my friends confirmed that they got the letter of denial. I have yet to receive anything. Let me know if you do. Thank you.

so strange also I live 30 min outside NYC and no one in my town has received anything or in the towns around me?? I want to know if anyone from NJ has heard???

If the USPS closes at 12, then is it possible to get my mail tomorrow? Or am I rejected…

delivery zones make no sense, and I live 10 minutes from DFW airport

Thanks for all the kind wishes everyone! Last one done and accepted.

ok, now that this process is over for me - FOUR application cycles to USC - I am very relieved (and tired). I am always happy to answer questions about USC and I try to be neutral in my answers, just sharing experiences we have had, good and bad. My youngest is happy, but very “balanced” about it all, probably cause she has been through it with three older siblings. This ride was the smoothest because we didn’t count on a thing from USC, in fact we always assumed it would be a rejection. She was shocked to get the acceptance. She would not allow herself to become invested in any single school and is in love with at least one other school that has offered her the moon and stars (OOS scholarship which isn’t a huge deal, but things like honors and great housing, etc) You know, that feeling that they really want her. I prefer that a school feel lucky to have my kid, versus my kid feeling lucky to have gotten in.

So she has a decision to make. But that is where she should be now - looking at options, not putting all her hopes and dreams on one school - being open to what every school can offer.

I don’t know how you first time parents or only-child parents do such a good job sometimes. It took me four times, and I just now feel like I know how to play the game.

If you got in and love it 100% (and can pay for it) great! But there are so many great schools out there. Your student should go where they feel it, not where they are expected to go, or sounds better when you tell people. That matters for about 30 seconds. If you didn’t get in to USC or any other school you considered your top choice - feel the sting and move on - life awaits! You can only be defined by what you choose to let define you.

has anyone from ohio heard back?

So did she get in, @CADREAMIN ? I’m sorry, I did not follow your thread.

Also, if anyone wants to know more about the Trojan Transfer Plan, just ask. For some, it is the Trojan Hostage Plan, but for those that know 100% - that all they ever want to do is graduate from USC - it can actually be an ok option that can save a lot of money. But there are other costs (non-monetary) to consider.

The TTP is included in the denial letter - if it is offered to you. It is not offered to everyone. It is a “denied for now, but encouraged to transfer in as a sophomore” plan.
