Hey thanks! I really appreciate your response. I am in the process of completing the app. Man, If I got accepted to USC that would be the coolest thing that has ever happened to me. Thanks again for the reply. Also, is there anything else that I can do to better my chances? Like go up to the campus in person and ask for an interview? etc....

USC24-no the one where it says to list your major related courses. i don't know what to make of it. for my major it is only suggested to take stats. and then i guess its pretty much just core requirements and stuff.

evo9-If I got accepted to USC, I would actually shed tears because it is one of my dreams in my life. I actually felt really bad because when my grandma visited USC, she started to cry.
To answer your questions, have two letter of recommendations from an English professor and a professor related to your intended field. Also, if this is relevant, have your employer write you a letter of recommendation. The reason for the letter of recommendations is to get to know you more and see what your capable of. If you are extremely confident that you will do well in the interview, then go for it because it wouldn't hurt.

Woman of troy-What's your major? For all of the courses that's related to your major and prerequisites, just write down the course, the college you took them at, and your grade. That's basically it.

ok so just the one class? lol. My major is communications.

Haha there wasn't any additional prerequisites? If not, then ya just the one class.

ok, thanks.

Do Letters of Recommendation help? I have a 3.7 GPA and am applying to Viterbi. Although they say they aren't necessary, will not sending some in hurt my chances of getting accepted?

does anyone know how many months it takes until you finally get a lletter of acceptance from usc?

also in the admission process do you guys kow if USC takes the non transferable gpa AND the transferable gpa into consideration? or do they just look at the gpa that they are accepting?

Question regarding financial aid:

I am a transfer student who looks to apply to USC for the Fall 2008 session. With the deadline to apply for financial aid being 1-22-08, because I won't be able to have relevant documents to this available by, say, the end of the week or so, if I send the information in by then, instead, would there be any consequences to such actions? In other words, it's a soft deadline that won't have any penalties if turned it shortly after?

Being that I am in my second year of college, I am already collecting FAFSA and a Cal Grant type of financial aid. Based on this information, do I have to reapply or merely transfer the information from my college to USC? I am curious as to what I actually have to apply for, or what other methods to partake in, since I already collect with my current college.

Thanks, guys!

do you guys think i have a chance at getting into usc with a 3.66 gpa? i did a number of things like volunteer at 3 diferent places, work experience, as well as study abroad PLEASE help?

sukh08.... a GPA of 3.66 is a bit below average... i was reading ur other posts and found out that u had F's in some of ur courses.... Ouch! volunteerin...work...study abroad... won't make up for those F's ... ur GPA is decent though...if u have a legitemate reason for gettin that F ... than ur chances look reasonable ... if u believe in God.... just pray and hope for the best!
Have u applied to other universities?

I only have one f and 3.66 is my gpa including the f my my overall is 3.8

sorry to say ... that "f" will be extremely detrimental....

what major are u applying? if ur applying to Marshall... and that "F" is in a prerequisite ... u have 0% chance then....

so what major r u?

yea dude i was gonna apply as a marshall major..so theres NO chance of me getting in even if i have a legitimate reason for it?

btw that F is in history it has nothing to do with my business major

someone please reply

sukh08-thats a tough one. if your record really is that good then the one f with some good explanation may make it seem just that, a freak single event. maybe it wont hurt you if your gpa is still high??? best of luck. :)
