USC Fall 08 transfers

Woman.Of.Troy - I got that too (with a sheet to verify my address, right?) but it was right next to that envelope with my new USC ID lol.

My financial aid documents are messed up too. The things I faxed in are under my old file, and my CSS/FAFSA have been received and are under my new file. ARGHaldkjfalkdjaowijfalskdfj. So many phone calls to make!

All I got was that random note. I didn't get a verification of address & I already had a USC ID from long ago. But I just meant that everytime I get a letter I'm wondering whether they're requesting extra stuff, hopefully not.

uggggggggh. I logged back into my submitted app to see if there was an update. Apparently they "need more info" and it was updated this morning, and the link takes me to OASIS. And under documents required it says "NONE" and under what they've received it's pretty much everything except my college transcripts & my letter of recommendation tho I personally went down to the school Feb. 1st and the lady there gave me a stamped received feb1st checklist and signed it.
a call is clearly in order and i'm sure bc of my proof, an easy fix.
I guess I'm just venting on CC bc who else would care/understand around here? lol.

I think they've received everything from me...Cool

I have no idea what my USC id is. I haven't gotten any emails or mail containing it. How do I get one?

I thought USC doesn't even want a letter of recommendation? Am I missing something?

I called and they said to wait for processing. They haven't gotten to whatever was turned in Feb1st. Whew!

redtapepatrol- I'm applying to Annenberg, 1 letter of rec. is required for my major.

Oh I see, thanks!

yeah, i along with a few others have been freaking out over the last few days about missing documents and OASIS. just don't. apparently USC is really behind right now. {record # of transfer applicants, perhaps?} and OASIS reflects that. Wait a couple of weeks, and only pay attention, as I've been told, to mail correspondence form the actual school.

When i checked oasis this morning, it said i was missing stuff. still does. but i just checked my mailbox and the letter sent says my application is ready and under review. whew.

On Oasis, I can't find the link to the fax cover sheet for a letter of recommendation. Does anyone have the link?

Actually I take back what I said earlier. I'm not sure if they've received my transcript.

Does anyone know if the transcript cover sheet can be sent in separately? I've ordered the transcripts from my college a while back and I'm pretty sure they have gotten it already (other schools have received it), but I didn't give my college the cover sheet. Can I fill it out and just send it directly to USC? Or do I have to re-do the whole process?

Even though the letters say that the application is under review already, it really isn't yet. They're 3 and a half weeks backed up (according to a USC representative) and I guarantee that they'll wait to be more sorted out. Otherwise, someone could have sent in more materials that would never get considered because they'd get them 3 and a half weeks from now.

What sucks is that the online application screwed up while I was doing it. Everything was fine except question 3 of the short answer section. I was editing it on 2/1 and I pressed save but it never did So I called admissions and they told me that tons of people have experienced the same problem and to just fax the intended response along with an explanation and now I have no way to confirm that they've received it...ughhhh

RedTapePatrol, I have the same issue. I called USC twice about it, and these were the responses:

Phone Advisor: "Just send the transcript cover sheets in the mail, by themselves. It's no problem."
Me: "I heard that USC will receive things faster if I fax them over, but I can't find the cover sheets for them."
Phone Advisor: "It's not faster if you fax them. Send them in the mail."

(I called again to inquire about something else)
Advisor #2: We don't need cover sheets; they're unimportant. As long as we get the transcripts, you're fine.

So.. umm. Send them in the mail to be safe? I guess the consensus is that they can be sent alone, and you don't have to do the whole thing again.

Also, this is weird. I asked the first advisor what additional things USC has received from me. One transcript, she said, and then named the school the transcript came from.

I asked the second advisor the same question, about 5 days later, and he looked it up and said.. NOTHING has been received. Hmm..

Ok, I need some advice here.

OASIS says I'm missing the college transfer cover sheet too. But, I know they got it for a fact because I persoanlly delivered it 2/1/08 and again, the woman at the desk gave me a 'received' receipt. Assuming this, should I just wait it out unti l they catch up or awesome that bc my cover sheets are floating aorund somewhere that they also lost all the stuff that i delivered along with it.... college transcripts and my letter of rec...

???

On the other hand, FAFSA & CSS finally got there and have been checke dout according to OASIS.

Woman of Troy,
I would wait. It's only been a week since you gave it to them, and if they're 3 weeks backed up, they probably just haven't gotten to it. Maybe check with them in like, a week and a half to see if they have them.

If I took two classes at another university...should I get them to send a transcript out too? This was before I went to my current school. During a summer program.

I would say yes. I'm not 100% sure though because it was a summer program, but I only took one 3-unit class at another college and I reported it and sent in my transcript.

mapletree-
thanks, i figured as much. just need to stop being paranoid i guess. :P
