@Rice1961: Yes, that’s correct as far as I’m concerned. Although the “technical difficulties” on USConnect may or may not be due to status changes, I have a good feeling they are.

Hey Mirage,
the RSVP page seems to be out of order now. I just clicked the “Get Notified” option which you told me about.
And well, in my hurry to find out which package was headed for me, I totally forgot to congratulate you !!!
Well then, so that’s two of us then… hoping everybody else over here on CC makes it too !!!

haha, check the other thread, a few of us got notice too!

Yeah, I’d missed the other thread earlier. Yep. I am reading it right now.

And oh boy, USC is determined to deprive me of the few hours of sleep I had scheduled for tonight. RSVP page no longer active !!! Perfect. Just perfect.

Rice1961, I don’t think anyone properly answered your first question. Past experience tells us that mass status changes sometimes result in the entire USConnect going down briefly for reasons nobody can know. A status change does not necessarily mean anything (although an “acted on” status at this early stage seems to universally bode well).

But, yes, the scholarship package means you are accepted and will be invited to interview.

I know everyone is saying that the statuses don’t mean too much, but mine has been this since I submitted my application (which was on time for the scholarship deadline).

“Undergraduate Application (Part II, Fall 2011)
We have received your application, and it appears we require no additional information at this time. We will be reviewing applications through the month of March, and we expect to be able to meet our commitment to notify freshmen by April 1st. We often like to see the mid-year grades of freshman applicants. If you have not already done so, please submit your final, fall term marks when they become available. You may submit them at USConnect by clicking “mid-year grade reports”, or by visiting www.usc.edu/midyeargrades. Sometimes, in the course of our review of applications, we find that we need additional information. In such cases we will mail a written request. If you receive a request for more information, please respond promptly.”

Does this mean that for some reason they have not seen my application? Haha, I realize I am unnecessarily freaking out, but I’m just wondering if the lack of status change is just some sort of glitch or indicative of something worse…

Congratulations mirage2011 and Ssur92! ;]

Does anyone know which scholarships USC is notifying early (besides Trustee and Presidential)?
It does not say on the website that USC Associates and Deans scholarships require an interview, so will we not find out about those until later?

lemoncookie, only the Trustee and Pres candidates require interviews, hence the earlier notification as interviews take place late Feb and early March. Applicants with other scholarships will be notified later, (although last year a few were offered the Deans early as well.)

Okay thanks! I wasn’t sure.

ADMITTED! I’m in Los Angeles County! This year the scholarship info is in the same package as the rest of the stuff. I’m being considered for the Presidential scholarship. How quickly do I need to register for Explore USC!?

Congrats to the other admits!!! :)

Congratulations californiacoast!

ok i am so confused. sorry. I applied to usc for the earlier schorlarship consideration deadline.

am i about to recieve my decision?

if my usconnet status hasn’t changed, does that mean i didn’t get any scholarships?

i live in georgia, will it come in the mail or will i check online?

idk. once again, sorry. ive read through this entire post but still dont understand.

Congratulations californiacoast!!!

So exciting to see the first acceptances and scholarship candidates!

college282- My USConnect never changed. I just got a package in the mail. I live relatively close to USC (LA area), so the rest of the country’s mail might take a little longer!

so californiacoast,

you never had the “forwarded” status? I’m in Norcal… so the mail probably wouldn’t come until tomorrow

A lot of people do get that message, but it only stays up a short while so it’s hard to catch. Or apparently due to research. Again, FORGET ABOUT THE STATUSES!

CONGRATS CALIFORNIA!!!

Good point JasonDVM. Some people had the forwarded status for less than an hour or even less so some who didn’t think they ever got it could very well have and just hadn’t checked while it was up. And you are right - at this point it doesn’t matter.

Admitted-- got the package in the mail today (I live near LA) :)

And agreed, forget about the statuses… mine is still on “we have received your application…”

Congrats!!
