caliboi, from what I understand the scholarship information follows the admissions mail by several days. Have you by chance received something in the mail? If you are able to log into the Explore USC thing, it's my understanding that you are a Trustee or Presidential scholarship candidate - I don't think anyone who has received admittance since about 1/25 (first wave) is admit only - there are scholarships attached. Either stalk your mailman or call admissions if you don't receive anything by mail. It is also my understanding that there are no interviews for Dean's, that is just sent as part of your admittance package. Somebody who may know more, correct me if anything here is not accurate. Still waiting on my DS's app: 35 ACT, 3.8 UW and of course, just as qualified as everybody else here :>)

has anyone been admitted without scholarship notification yet?? whe nwas evyerones letter of acceptance datged, and how many days after being notified of acceptance were you notified of schoalrship consideration? THANKS!

caliboi - Sorry if I was harsh in my earlier reply. I think I was in parent mode and felt like I'd been asked the same question over and over. Q-rick's right, there are a lot of frustrated or disappointed people which almost makes this harder than waiting for admissions results from schools that provide no information while you wait for several months.

I don't know the details you asked for ^, but I know I've read reports here from students who were admitted and then get Explore USC dates in April, which seems a pretty sure sign of no Trustee/Presidential interview. Hopefully someone will provide details.

caliboi,
My s recvd his acceptance letter on 1/26 and 4 days later he recvd the scholarship information. I hope this answers your question.

^ Exactly the same for my D.

"and I feel as though I have been cheated out of something I truly do deserve. thanks all!"

Get over yourself. Some people with stats that outweigh YOURS are still waiting to hear about their decision. You seriously feel like you are owed something?

even if you didn't get a scholarship, remember that there is always financial aid. USC might offer you enough :D

Caliboi, I know how you're feeling. I'm one of about a dozen NMS finalists in my school with above average numbers, yet only about 2 of us haven't received anything, while some with lesser stats have. Hell, I'm still on prelim review, even after emailing my local rep...I guess there's just something about our apps which they didn't like. These things happen for a reason i suppose though, and we'll both end up in the schools we're meant to go to.

I haven't even been accepted yet and I'm 1/688, 4.0 UW, 4.7 W gpa, 34 ACT. Good EC's, volunteer, president of 2 clubs, Academic Decathlon, etc etc

I'm about to cry. They wanted my mid-year report (requested it through mail), so that REALLY means I didn't get any scholarship stuff, and well, everyone at my school thought I'd be the first one to get in. I DID get straight A's with 5 AP's in my mid-year grades, so I'm hoping that'll help me get an acceptance..

I share your frustration, but..I can't help but feel that you should just be happy you got accepted.

yes. I received an acceptance on 2/1, dated 1/31. It's been 12 days and only April dates appear when I log into Explore USC, so I assume this means I am not being considered for a scholarship either. My stats are similar to yours, 2380 on the SAT, top 5%, quality ECs ect. USC was near to my top choice, so I'm kind of disappointed, but so it goes.

do you guys think perhaps USC is still sending out trustee/pres. invitations, it seems that there are lot of higly qualified applciants who are getting the boot when it comes to schoalrships that they deserve over some other applicants, IMO

given that the first scholarship interviews are in eight days, I seriously doubt this. I'm sorry my friend, I know the feeling. I'm looking at the snow surrounding me and thinking it's not going to be los angeles sunshine next year for me either.

oh, and as a note you might want to think more about your tone when you write. I'm not going to lie- I was also pretty certain I'd get an interview for a scholarship, clearly this was wrong. While USC's decision perplexes me, I haven;t responded by disparaging the qualifications of those who received one or suggesting that I have a god giving right to some scholarship. Life will go on- I promise.

i feel the same way. i have stats equal to or above wat other ppl here on CC have posted. its kind of annoying...

btw i havent even been accepted yet..

i was accepted first wk of feb. and only april explore usc dates were available to me, but i received a letter telling me i am a dean's scholar today.

bynumthebeast, when was your scholarship letter dated, and
where do you live?
thanks!

His location says Bay Area so it's the San Francisco Bay Area. Mail usually takes like a day or two at the most from San Francisco to Los Angeles.

Just a note, last year many students were invited to interviews but not all got the scholarships (only a select few actually...), so even if you didnt get a scholarship interview, don't feel too bad (??). And besides, USC is good with FA money, and there are some tricky terms with the trustee/presidential scholarships, so some people actually get MORE FA from USC than they would with the merit scholarships even though they didnt get merit scholarships. :)

I'm just wondering when they're going to send out the "you arent a scholarship recepient" letter.

Not all invitees get trustee scholarships.

saeraxD- I believe that's when they're certain that you won't get a Dean's scholarship either. And that could take a while.

question: is it possible to receive the deans sch. as well as other usc schoalrships such as alumi, town and gown, lambda etc.
