USC=U of Student Confusion

looks like my deans letter was dated the eight but not sent out till the 11th

"I'm just wondering when they're going to send out the "you arent a scholarship recepient" letter."

S got it in today's mail...

@ caliboi1313 - it is. you can stack merit scholarship on top of each other for the most part; however, there are limits.

if you're a Trustee, you can't get any more scholarships from any USC source. if you're Presidential, Leadership, Dean's, Directors, Associates, or Trojan, you can retain up to $2,500 of your award from any USC source (this includes alumni associations)

for non-USC sources (or USC Competitive Scholarship), you can get as much money so long as they don't "exceed the student's USC tuition by more than $6,000"

if you're on financial aid, the scholarship award simply gets added to your calculated finacial need. as long as the total monetary award doesn't exceed that, you're golden

btw, all these answers came directly from my competitive scholarship guide for this year (aka the fine print). it might change but I doubt it. otherwise, I'm a trustee at USC already so if you guys have any more questions, feel free.

This is a bit saddening. I had similarly high SAT scores and a high GPA. Even UCLA and CalTech are offering me merit aid. I feel a bit shocked that USC didn't even consider me. Oh well.

Me too....UA offered me full tuition and im flying down to Claremont McKenna in 2 weeks to interview for a 10k/yr scholarship there...but nothing from USC. :(

Oh well...it's still one of my top choices and I'd probably go anyway if I got in regardless of whether or not I get free money.
