My son is a Senior this year, interested in Pre-med. He has FL prep-paid, Bright Futures, qualifies for Honors Program and Merit based scholarships at USF…and is leaning toward the above program. Does anyone have any thoughts or feedback on the accelerated program, the honors dorm, etc?
Send me an email and I can connect you with a current student: mejias@honors.usf.edu
@RealAcadAdvisor thank you! I actually just received an invite to tour JG Honors College on 11/25, however, if I still have questions I will reach out- thank you! - Logan
@RealAcadAdvisor : On the website it states: We recalculate your GPA. What this means is that we create a new GPA for you based on your high school grades in core academic subject areas, as well as specified AP and IB fine and performing arts courses. We will add the quality points outlined below for approved AP, IB, Advanced International Certificate of Education (AICE), Honors, and Dual Enrollment courses, provided you earn a “C” or better.
I am assuming required Catholic Relgion classes at Jesuit (all 4 years) and a Guitar Ensemble Class which was NOT AP or IB would be omitted from GPA recalculation. Is this correct? Also curious about the 2 Honors Engineering Elective classes that I took- would those be omitted as not “core”? Thanks!
@LJAmom: correct… religion and electives are not counted. The 5 core subjects:
