You can’t change it at this point EE2112. I tried doing so (not that I needed too in the end hehe) but they said after the deadline, no changes can be made. Contact admissions though. The lady I talked to sounded like a b***h and was generally unhelpful in all my questions.

I know as a fact that one of my friends changed engineering to Computer Science about two weeks ago and he got accepted the week after. I called twice to asked them different things and once I did get a really rude guy on the phone. the second time it was a nicer lady.

One a related note, do you think that a 3.75 is competitive enough, borderline or just not good enough for Cockrell?

Phoning UT is always up in the air. I was “supposed” to be admitted in late May (after I completed the last pre-reqs for McCombs) but I found out this week. They’re pretty unreliable, so I guess you should ask your friend about it…

I think you have a good shot at Cockrell. Empirically, a 3.7 generally gets someone in Engineering (I’m not quite sure about which kind exactly). Look at the 2010 thread as an indicator. You’re in state, right?

Jammy,
Can you please post the link to the 2010 transfer thread? If you click last on the UT College Confidential site it only goes as far back as March 2011.

JammyD I would appreciate it if you could post the thread so that I can read it. My Friend said he had no problem changing it but I dont know if it affects negatively or positively my application if I do this change now. Do you know what is a borderline GPA??? Also, Im from Texas, Im currently attending UTEP (UT El Paso).

This link is to page 9 of last year’s transfer thread (you can go forward/backward obviously but this is where the acceptances started).

Thanks. It seems that the average is 3.8 and mine is 3.75 so im a little below "average"has anybody gotten into engineering with a GPA below a 3.8?

Well I got denied. Now I just have to figure out how to have them review it again with my spring grades. Anyone know the process for that?

when did you get denied?

Ya i was denied too on Friday, but that’s no surprise since i only had a 3.15 gpa, but the thing that has me devastated right now is that i found out my grandmother got hit by a car not even five minutes after i checked my status. Its just so much bad news in one day. atm her state is still really critical and doctors are unsure if she will survive. So my family and I are just hoping she will get better. If this situation right now ends up ok, then maybe i can start worrying about if i can do a appeal. I’m not sure if it will make a difference tho because I’l probably end up with a 3.3 by the end of spring and that’s still not to high.

@pillowpants - Hope your grandma get well soon.
Whats your GPA anyways? How many Units and what college did you apply for?

thank you police, my gpa is pretty low it was only 3.15 with 40 hours. I had almost all C’s in my first semester so I’m just trying my best to bring it up. i will probably get A’s in all my classes but calculus which will probably end up as a B. oh and i applied to college of natural science.

@pillowpants - I hope your grandma gets well very soon :/

@EE2112 - I got in for ChemE with a 3.72 (OOS) but I had really strong essays, I guess they helped me tremendously.

Good luck to everyone who is still waiting to hear back!

Hope it goes well pillowpants. I wish your grandmother the best…

Police: what are your stats? What majors are you applying for?

Hope your Grandma gets well soon pilowpants

@ramezb when did you get accepted? I think I have a strong essay and resume too. this is barely my second semester in college and I have 59 credit hours and an intenship with General Motors. HOWEVER, Im still waitng:/

I got denied today. I’m still trying to decide if i should cut my losses and go to Baylor and pay so much more or spend another semester here at my CC and take like three classes. The only problem is that will make me already have 84 hours without really starting on my major classes and thats so many hours that it would be difficult to even get in to ut at that point.

Oh well ill hope that they will have space open in COLA for another Economics major after my spring grades get there. I know blazingflash got in with a 3.29 and that will be my GPA after this semester when I make all A’s which will be likely. No one said if they knew what the process was on having them look at your application again with your spring grades. Anyone know how successful that usually is?

No offense kusumuthram, but I understood every third word of whatever you just said. Try proofreading a little, even for the Internet that’s pretty ridiculous. And on that note, are you an Internet ■■■■■? I’ve looked at all your past posts, and they’re all either wrong (when acceptances would ‘supposedly’ come out) or just annoying/idiotic.

I know I sound rude, but this is a serious thread, so get off it if you’re just messing around.

Yeah, quit ■■■■■■■■. If that were true, then the rest of us who don’t have thirty hours would be automatically rejected without so much as a glance towards our credentials.

I don’t know what your agenda is, but stop trying to spread misinformation.

@JammyD - I have a Cum GPA of 3.3 currently and after spring probably get a 3.69 for that spring semester, because Cal 2 is being a bitc*. I applied for Geosciences and Education. In my opinion i have strong essays. 3 rec letter. I dun have high hopes to get in though… D;

Can you tell me how they count a D. I got a D on English 1301 on my first semester, because of some illness. I have taken English 1302 and got an A. This semester I am currently retaking English 1301 and probably i will get an A. So how will they count it?
