@houstonmama …thank you! I love that CC provides info and help for all sorts of needs in this process. We can all help each other out by being as specific as we can without giving out too much information.
To that end, I would like to clarify my comment above where I say “unless there is a need based component.” Even then, UT does not guarantee to meet need at all. With the newer Texas Advance scholarship, it looks like they are attempting to remedy this problem to some extent. It will be helpful to many many students in the years to come if we can help them identify how much and to whom this $$ goes to.
@TheUsual Most likely, starting in mid-Feb for the majority of applicants. However, going by past years, they could release a select few decisions mid-Jan.
Did anyone receive any Special Invitation email from UT Admissions office. It mentioned about 40 acres scholarship and save the Best of Texas Day March 25th. More information will come soon…
What does this mean. I thought there is normally a semifinalists and then finalist list. What is the Forty Acres Scholarship Process
I don't think decisions are made. Based on previous years, the select finalists and finally select 15 or so at the end of March. The email said special Invitation for UT Visit. Here is the text of email . We are trying to understand what it means
I know at this time of year you’re weighing your options and trying to decide where you’ll spend the next four years. That’s why I’d like to personally invite you and your family to visit The University of Texas at Austin and experience all that the Forty Acres has to offer.
As one of our top admitted students, soon you’ll be receiving an invitation to our exclusive Best of Texas admitted-student event. We hope you’ll be able to join us. For now, please save the date: Saturday, March 25.
