UT Austin Class of 2021 Thread

@houstonmama …thank you! I love that CC provides info and help for all sorts of needs in this process. We can all help each other out by being as specific as we can without giving out too much information.

To that end, I would like to clarify my comment above where I say “unless there is a need based component.” Even then, UT does not guarantee to meet need at all. With the newer Texas Advance scholarship, it looks like they are attempting to remedy this problem to some extent. It will be helpful to many many students in the years to come if we can help them identify how much and to whom this $$ goes to.

just read through this entire thread but I was wondering if anyone has gotten a decision from the school of nursing yet?

@kyloveren I would like to know too. I’ve only seen one person from Twitter already got accepted but that’s it. (No decision for me yet)

When do you hear back if your out of state and applied 11/29-11/30

@TheUsual Most likely, starting in mid-Feb for the majority of applicants. However, going by past years, they could release a select few decisions mid-Jan.

@TheUsual I’m OOS. I applied on December 1st and received admission on the 14th.

My daughter is OOS and has been admitted to CNS. Does anyone know when honors decisions will be sent out?

@HankE When did your daughter get her decision for CNS?
When did she apply?
And congratulations!

She applied before November 1 and received it on 12/16/16. Thank you!!!

@HankE Oh okay cool. Was wondering because even I have applied to CNS but I applied on 28th November.

When is the next wave of decisions expected?

@HankE --wow that’s pretty incredible. She must have amazing credentials to be accepted so quickly OOS and into her major. Congrats!

Meanwhile…the IN-state kiddos who applied in late Sept/early October still…wait…

Does anyone have any idea when UT starts sending the financial packets to those admitted?

Did anyone receive any Special Invitation email from UT Admissions office. It mentioned about 40 acres scholarship and save the Best of Texas Day March 25th. More information will come soon…
What does this mean. I thought there is normally a semifinalists and then finalist list. What is the Forty Acres Scholarship Process

@AllenTx15 Did you apply for the 40 Acres?

@itsgettingreal17 I think my DS filled out the Texas Exes Scholarship app. it is part of it I think

@AllenTx15 Did you get the email today? Like, just now???

@ehsstudent17 My daughter went through this last year, we didn’t hear anything about financial aid till late late spring.

@micgeaux Yes he got the email today. Just trying to figure out what to make of it. They said some other email will follow. We will wait for that

40 Acres deadline was December. There’s no way decisions have already been made.

I don't think decisions are made. Based on previous years, the select finalists and finally select 15 or so at the end of March. The email said special Invitation for UT Visit. Here is the text of email . We are trying to understand what it means

I know at this time of year you’re weighing your options and trying to decide where you’ll spend the next four years. That’s why I’d like to personally invite you and your family to visit The University of Texas at Austin and experience all that the Forty Acres has to offer.

As one of our top admitted students, soon you’ll be receiving an invitation to our exclusive Best of Texas admitted-student event. We hope you’ll be able to join us. For now, please save the date: Saturday, March 25.
