UT Austin Engineering Vs. UT Arlington Transfer Advice

Hi all, I am an Electrical Engineering major currently attending the University of North Texas. I am sophomore as of fall 2010 and working on completing the Calculus requirements that UT Austin mandates. I will not be done with Cal classes until Fall 2011 and will have to apply for Spring 2012 admission. As of now I have 34 credit hours, a 4.0 GPA, and decent resume.
At the same time I am also looking to transfer to UT Arlington in fall 2011 because I will be able to start taking major classes and not have to meet the Cal requirement before transferring in. I know that Austin has a top notch program, but spending five years to get an undergrad degree at Arlington instead of six at Austin seems more enticing.
I would like to hear some feedback on the advantages and disadvantages of picking Arlington over Austin.

Thanks,
Grim

What is your plan after you receive your bachelor’s degree? IMHO, if you are planning on graduate school, go to UTA. If not, go to Austin. The reason being that your last degree and where you received it will be the most important.

What She said ^^^ is pretty spot-on.
