UVA Transfer Question- Important!

<p>I'm in my 3rd year in college. I'm a Puerto Rican student from NJ.
My HS record was decent 3.3/4.0 GPA, failed Algebra II during my sophomore year of HS but then I took it again during my junior year and got a 100 average in the class.</p>

<p>Anyway, I'm wondering if I'll be eligible to transfer to UVA for next fall. I'm planning to apply to the College of Arts and Sciences as an English major.</p>

<p>I spent my first year of college at a liberal arts school in NY where I took 25 credits worth of coursework and had a 3.6 GPA</p>

<p>I transferred to my local community college because of insufficient financial aid and I'm currently in my 2nd year of community college.
So far I have a 3.83 with 31 credits completed. (I had a B- in general chemistry, otherwise I would have a 4.0)
I'm halfway through this semester and I think it's safe to say I'll have another 4.0 easily.</p>

<p>Taken from UVA's website:
Students who have completed three or more years of study at another college or university are not eligible for transfer admission to the College.</p>

<p>Would that exclude me from being able to transfer to UVA for the fall 2011 semester? I hope it doesn't because not only would I have all of UVA's first and second year requirements completed by the spring semester, but I would help their Hispanic representation (4.5%).</p>

<p>(Btw, I've tried calling the admissions office but no one ever picks up and I don't want to keep making calls from NJ to VA)</p>

<p>What number have you called? There are two people who work the phones all day. If the call isn’t getting picked up in the first place, I think you’re calling the wrong number. When you call, the line is first picked up by our automated system which greets and gives a quick, general message. After that, the call goes to the receptionists. </p>

<p>It sounds like you are doing part time work at the CC level. If that is the case, you can apply to spend your 3rd and 4th year at UVa. :)</p>

I’ll try again today, maybe I just called them at a bad time.</p>

<p>I’m a full-time student at my CC.
I completed 31 credits for the 2009-2010 school year, have 16 credits in progress right now and have planned 15 credits for next semester.</p>
