I’m just hoping and praying that notifications come out sooner than that. June/July is way too far. I check MYUW every day in hopes that something changes but nothing.
@julietjuju3 same here… ! i don’t think we’ll hear back before that though…
I keep checking my unofficial transcript but I know there won’t be anything yet. I’m applying to Foster and I didn’t submit my application to that yet. It’s due on April 5.
Anyone else who’s applying from Bellevue College?
@transfer3018 Hmmm. I wonder what will come first the admittance to the school or the department. & I’m not, I’m applying from Pierce College.
@transfer3018 - I also go to Bellevue College, and I am applying to Foster for the fall quarter.
Hey folks, I am new to this thread. I just finished my AA at Bellevue College, and am hoping to transfer to the Foster Business School for the fall quarter. I have a 3.86 cumulative GPA (91 credits), and a 3.96 for the core business GPA. I don’t know my WSA score yet. How are my chances?
@julietjuju3 Ideally maybe both would come out at the same time? I don’t know. An admissions counselor told that if the department accepts you then UW will definitely accept you.
Like it’s not possible that Foster accepts you and UW rejects you. It is possible that Foster rejects an applicant and UW accepts them as pre-business or any pre-major.
@futurehusky747 Nice! You must be the first person I’ve met who’s applying to Foster from BC. I think you’re strong GPA wise. It would come down to the essay and WSA. I think I read somewhere that WSA has 35% weight in the admissions decision.
I’m trying to link a reddit link but it’s not working. Search for ‘Foster Winter Decisions’ on Reddit in the Udub subreddit. It has the average GPA of those who applied and those who got accepted. And you are definitely above the average accepted GPA
@cercit20 I got in for Spring, so I found out in early March.
Does anyone know if updated transcripts need to be sent out?
@akoopa44 I just sent updated transcripts to UW and SU a few hours ago. To answer your question, I don’t think it’s necessary unless they ask. I sent mine because SU wants my updated transcripts because in my last quarter of community college I took a class that was required for transfer. I also sent mine to UW because I wanted to see if that would push them to look at my application sooner.
I’m going to send my new transcript. My GPA in my previous quarter was 3.67 and now it’s 3.84. So I think that it will make a big difference in my admissions decision
Also, I just read on Foster School website that they send out electronic decision notifications after UW sends them out.
Yeah definitely send updated transcripts if you feel like it will give you a better chance or you want them to see something that you’ve improved in (for example a repeated class or a hard class that you’re proud of getting a good grade in)
I had a 3.64 when I applied, but after this past winter quarter (I took microbiology, anatomy & physiology II, and organic chemistry I) I got all B’s and that dropped me to a 3.49 and I’m not sure if I should send my updated transcript unless they ask me.
Are those classes for your intended major? @akoopa44
Yeah, my intended majors are biochemistry or chemistry. I didn’t do as great as planned due to work which I explained in my essay
Hello all,
Is anyone applying for a restricted major? I am hoping to apply for the Law, Societies, and Justice major, which requires an extra application plus some pre reqs. which are only offered at UW. I am wondering though - my gpa is somewhat low range for the LSJ major requirement (my GPA: 3.57, LSJ Required GPA: 3.5). I hope to use Fall 2018 quarter to raise my GPA as much as possible, prior to applying to the major. I am wondering, if they don’t see me as a candidate for the LSJ major, will this hinder my chances of getting into the school itself?
Hey everyone, so there might be hope after all. Last years thread some transfers started getting in, in April. I hope the case is the same for this year. Here is the link: http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/university-washington/1976132-fall-2017-transfer-thread-p1.html
Or you could search Fall 2017 Transfer thread. Reading some of it really eased my mind a little bit. I know it’s not a guarantee but it comforts me to know that transfers last year started getting their decisions in April.
We got this!
So…late April. I can’t wait. Also, someone linked a Reddit post in the thread. In that, someone says that UW is trying to improve the response time for transfer decisions.
Could this mean we can get our decisions before late April? Maybe mid-April?
