I'm an online student scheduled for an Orientation today. However, I received an email earlier stating that the system has lost my registration information. Upon fixing this I received a much later date (moved all the way to August). I really need CSE 142. So I would like to ask that does this class usually stay not-full all the way till about the beginning of August.

It really depends on how many people are planning to take it in the Fall. Unfortunately, I think there are engineering specific orientations in late July, which may lead to CSE 142 being filled up.

Don’t worry though, it’s not the end of the world! Keep checking back on enrollment statuses especially right before school starts/first week of class. People change schedules a lot. If it’s still completely full, go to class the first week. Talk to the professor and explain you would like to overload into the class. As long as you show up, there’s a really, really good chance they can get you in. Pretty much the only reason why you wouldnt be able to get into the class that way is if there are so many people overloading the class it becomes a fire hazard.

speedsolver, I noticed that in descriptions to many classes it says “NO OVERLOADS”. Do they really mean it or they usually will try accommodate you?

Hmm, like what classes? Some have specific reasons for no overloads (like chem + lab). I think it depends from department to department and class to class.

The CSE professors really try to accommodate students though! Just be proactive about it. :)

In particular, I’m talking about upper-division classes in the Business School: ACCOUNTING

But it doesn’t appear to be a problem. Looks like they expanded the number of available spaces and I successfully signed up for the needed classes for the coming quarter. Yay.

Lots of people switch out classes the first week, don’t stress out about it.
