Im new here, but I’ve followed this forum for a few days now…silently holding in my anxiety, while pressing refresh on the unofficial transcript tab.

Im a resident , but an OOS transfer.
90+ credits
AA: Arabic
volunteer, vet, etc
I didn’t apply for a major.

@socalsea I click on first year programs and got the same message, but I don’t have a transcript yet.

The wait is killing me. Im moving soon and I would like to know one way or the other before I leave.

@dzhera Oh hmmm…Now that I think about it. I never checked that link before having my transcript load. Hmmm anyone else not accepted yet see the same message?

If I’m remembering correctly, it didn’t show that the first time I looked at it, but I’m not 100% sure.
I know that I’m in for sure because I received an email from the financial aid office with my student number.

@socalsea I am trying to transfer from Loyola Marymount University. Also applying to the biochem program. I have a 3.64 cumulative GPA. I am already a biochem major right now. But I really want to go to UW. It’s just a better school for what I’m trying to do and I miss Seattle, as you know I’m a Washington resident. I got in freshman year and chose to go to school in California instead. But I applied again for this fall quarter and was rejected and unsuccessfully appealed. Now I’m applying again. My transcript says “non-matriculated” because I took UW classes in high school. So no updates to my transcript yet. As you can tell by the time stamp of this post I am losing sleep over this. The wait is unbearable. What do you guys think?

Hey!
Remain hopeful.
I think the fact that you have not received anything is a good sign.
UW sent out a ton of rejections and still has a lot of applications to work through.
All I can say is that it’s not over until you receive a rejection letter!
I too was in your position for awhile, but one day it just happened to load when I casually logged on. You still have a chance.
What does it say when you go to academics -> first year program? Does a message saying congratulations blah blah come up?

@justin3co Whoa! I’m at Pepperdine! We are so close!! I have friends at Loyola, wonderful school. I get that you why you want to transfer to UW, we are in the same boat pretty much. I want to transfer too because of UW just being better for what I want to do. You have an advantage though being a resident from Washington. Have you mentioned in your personal statement that you wish to return to Seattle to finish your degree closer to home? I heard that out of state students who mention that and have a need to return home are given a bit of priority. Your cum. is above the average, which is always good. Hmmm…does the transcript trick work for non-matriculated students? I think I read somewhere that it doesn’t. Don’t lose hope or sleep over this yet. You still have to finish LMU strong no matter what. Good luck. I am rooting for you! I know how stressful this situation can be for out of state students who really feel they have lowest priority and no chance. That is simply not true.

@socalsea @UWchancemeh I haven’t given up yet. Yeah, I mentioned that part about being a resident of Washington. I do remember it was posted earlier that if you have non-matriculated, you can’t see the transcript load. Thanks for making me feel better guys. I’ll let you know if I get any updates.

Hello All,
I’m new to participating in this discussion, but I’ve been following along. I though I’d update you on my status–

I applied to UW for Winter 2015 as a transfer student. At the end of the current term (Fall 2014) I will complete a DTA AA from a Washington community college. My cumulative GPA is 3.05 (98 credits), with recent grade improvement. I was heavily involved on campus at my community college.

My unofficial transcript loaded (finally) for UW Seattle, this evening. I’m taking this to be a good sign, however I’m not celebrating until I get a letter.

I also was offered admission to WWU, and accepted so that I had a backup incase UW didn’t work out. Hopefully UW sends a letter soon, that way I can either move forward at WWU or withdraw.

Also, in regard to the unofficial UW transcript, mine has no courses loaded from my community college… is this normal?

Yes, the lack of college credits is normal. They don’t appear on your transcript until after you’ve enrolled and attended orientation. You should have a letter soon, congrats.

@socalsea @UWchancemeh in regards to the website for first year programs, and the message, “Welcome to UW…” that’s a public website, anyone can view that page and the result is the same. I don’t think it carries any weight in terms of an admission decision.

Ah, I see.
I just realized that after visiting the page through google at not through MyUW.
Congratulations on your unofficial transcript loading!

@socalsea

Hopefully out letters arrive either on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.

my GPA is about the same as yours and was also offered admission to WWU! thanks for giving me a little hope! I think I’m going to go ahead and do the same by accepting my admission to WWU before it’s too late since UW is taking so incredibly long with their admission process and just withdraw if anything changes. Congrats on your acceptance!
