Haha, nah, I get it. Schools with only UWC kids means the focus doesn’t diverge from the movement. Where are you from, applesauce?

Sephrenia: preferences: Adriatic or Atlantic or Pearson or USA > Maastricht or RCN > Costa Rica or LPC or Mostar or SEA > the rest A friend of mine goes to UWC though and recommends considering each and every campus except for SEA :s I have no idea why…
applesauce21: Thanks for your welcoming regarding your question, I am from Egypt, probably the only one in this forum from the country…

Ahahaha. So what made you decide to apply for a UWC? :)

Wassup fellow UWC applicants! How are you guys getting on with the applications? Have you started yet?

It’s nice to have mine over and done with! Although, the wait until the interview notifications come out is going to be hell.

Edit: @UWCian I just realised from your post that you’re from Egypt.

@sephrenia I’m from England!
@UWCian yeah, I don’t think that there are any other Egyptians hanging around but that’s pretty cool! I sit next to a girl from Egypt in biology, and we talk a lot about Egypt and Islam and stuff (but not much biology XD)
@stuffzhappenin I knooooow I’m dying! And it’ll be even longer since they extended the deadline by three weeks on Monday -_- it was kind…but infuriating haha

@applesauce21 Sounds like a very un-bi(o)ased class (pun intended).

Anyway, I am so happy I get to miss a week of school! Mainly due to my eye being blasted by a laser, yeah that’s right, I can’t see a darn thing clearly for the next five days!

FYI, I’m from America/Nigeria/Britain and currently live in Scotland. This is why the question “Where are you from?” scares the begebees out of me.

@hahaha yeah I have a pretty unusual first name, and if anyone ever asks me “why ARE you called ____” I’m just like o.o

Because the explanation would have to begin “well it started with my great great great grandpa in 1890s India” XD

And cripes, what happened to your eye?! How are you managing?

@applesauce21 Nah, it’s fine! Just had to get a tiny membrane removed that was irritating me. But, let me tell ya, lasers are freakyyyy. It was like an electric shock mixed with an nano-sized explosion!

I’m okay, everything just looks like an action picture gone wrong, but it’s cool. Thankfully, I can see well enough to type haha.

Yeah, with that question I have to basically give my life story, by then the person listening would have fallen asleep!

@stuffzhappenin well if we both get interviews we have to swap stories! And I’m glad it wasn’t too bad I’m afraid of operations so if anyone tried toAzerbaijan MY eye I’d probably take it a lot worse XD

I have two more exams and then [이태원] freedom so I would probably just use non schooltime to revise if I got time off XD

*laser

I have no idea why it changed it to Azerbaijan -_-

Sephrenia: I’ve heard about UWC from a friend and I always wanted to study abroad and UWC was a great chance to do that in an interesting community too. Wbu? ;D
applesauce21: I guess that saves me from explaining a lot… you know, a minority of people think that Egyptians currently live in pyramids and ride camels for transportation face palm… ;)

@stuffzhappenin I know someone who is American/Nigerian/British! He’s currently American, though :)

@UWCian: Wait … you DON’T all live in pyramids and ride camels? Haha, just kidding. Not very funny, sorry, but I couldn’t resist. At risk of further sounding stupid (because I’m just on a roll today), is Egypt as beautiful in person as it is in pictures? I have wanted to go to Egypt since I was very little, mostly because of my fascination with its history, and I’ve always thought it looked gorgeous, but I’m curious as to what someone who lives there thinks. (I’m also trying to learn Arabic on my own, but that’s not going particularly well.)

@Knozandonyx: dw, that was funny, I know the feeling when you can’t resist to state a funny comment Egypt, like any other country, has it’s advantages and its disadvantages. Not only people come here because of the historic events that happened in the country, but they come for a wide variety of reasons. There is nightlife in Sharm El Sheik, there is the most spactacular scenes in Hurghada, there are historical buildings/ statues in Giza and Luxor/ Aswan. If you are considering giving Egypt a short visit, I can guarantee that it would be amazing, but if you are considering permanently living here, frankly, I can’t say that the normal lifestyle in Egypt is actually different compared to other countries.

I am directing a movie to promote tourism in Egypt, for a project in my school, I can send it to you once I finish the montage part, if you’re interested…

@lunascreatures Does that person have three passports? Because, last time I checked I do. It’s kind of awkward when I have to decide on which one to use at an airport-almost getting forced to get a visa was fun too!

@UWCian I would also be interested in seeing your montage. Hit me up with the link when it’s ready. Oh before I forget what city are you from in Egypt? I have only ever been to Cairo and Sharm el Sheikh.

I live in Dokki, but I am not even sure if that counts as in Giza or in Cairo… :P

I checked… it’s in Giza ;)

@UWCian Don’t think I have ever heard of that city/town before. You learn something new everyday I guess! This calls for a google maps mission.
