<p>A deep thinker with a love for theoretical physics, Price knows his cerebral qualities may stereotype him as a nerd. But since he's found his athletic calling, the status no longer bothers him. </p>
<p>"I have always been a nerd, but I am not embarrassed by that at all," he said. "Once I started running and was good at it, I realized you could be a nerd and still be cool at the same time. People respected me because I was doing well. I am more myself when I run because I don't have to try to fit in with everyone else." </p>
<p>After spending two weeks mending fences and tending to cattle at his grandfather's ranch in Wyoming this summer, Price will start packing his bags for Princeton. </p>
<p>"I am really excited about college, and also kind of anxious about leaving because I have all my friends here," said Price, who plans to major in biophysics with an eye on medical school. "But when I went on my campus visit, it was one of the best weekends of my life. I knew right away that was the place I wanted to go." </p>
<p>The Star's Boys' Scholar-Athlete of the Year is ranked No. 1 in his class with a 4.6 GPA, and has never received anything but A's during high school while taking all honors classes. </p>
<p>"I have been coaching a long time, and Ted is one of the most remarkable kids I have ever been around," Camarillo cross country coach and English teacher Mike Smith said. "He has this amazing athletic ability, is a tremendous student and is as nice a kid as you can find. He is truly one in a million."</p>
