Vanderbilt ED1 Class of 2022 Discussion Thread

Tomorrow is going to be the longest day of my life—I hope it ends well.

Not getting any sleep tonight… of course I have my AP Calc midterm tmrw morning

Same… got my AP Bio test bright and early first period. No sleep.

Vandy should release decisions on a Friday, some might be upset and still have tests on Friday. If tomorrow were Friday, at least they would have the weekend to get over it. Good luck!

I have a calculus test tomorrow, but I have 4 tests (part 1 of midterms—AP frqs) Friday. There is no way I am going to be able to study, regardless of the decision—I’ll either be too excited or too upset. Oh well.

Best wishes to all of you! I am sure you will have bright futures no matter the outcome of the notification tomorrow.

Good luck to everyone! I applied RD for Vanderbilt and I’m pretty nervous. Can anyone chance me?

@jsmith93 You are clearly qualified! College admissions seem to be a bit of a crap shoot.

@Living61 Thanks! And yeah I know! I got accepted to Notre Dame today, but honestly I’m nervous about everywhere I apply to because no matter how good your test scores and everything are, you could easily get denied.

@jsmith93 Congrats on Notre Dame! My friend got her acceptance from there today too:)

Also, your academics are spot on. High involvement in ECs. Good chances of getting in, but since a lot of kids applying to Vandy are gonna have similar stats as you, your essays really gotta stand out

Less than 12 hrs! So nerve racking!!! I wish everyone the best, whether y’all get accepted or not I hope everything works out well. Honestly, I’m expecting to be rejected… also, good luck to everyone having to get through tests today and tomorrow with this decision over your heads.

My daughter is having same challenge- trying to concentrate and finish difficult IB paper last night and this am. But she seems incredibly calm about learning VU ED decision tonight. She got email yesterday that results will be posted Thu. I dont know if she assumes she wont get it or that she will or if she just truly feels content that she worked her ass off, did all she can- and the rest is up to the admissions office and fate. I dont think she wants to show her enotions or get invested until she hears they want her as much as she wants to go there. Her attitude is a healthy one- she knows she will be ok at any number of schools and is already in at her safety school with a fantastic scholarship. Best of luck to all today! You have much to be proud of and your futures will be all you make of them wherever you end up. Dont forget many schools take transfer students too!

happy judgement day everybodyyyyyy~ >:p

The morning of December 14, 2017: D-Day.

@jsmith93 Isn’t Vandy ED1 binding? How could you apply at ND?

@Virgmom Early Action at Notre Dame is not binding. You can apply to only one ED school but as many EA and RD schools as you wish.

Notre Dame has a non-binding Restrictive Early Action program.

A student applying Restrictive Early Action to Notre Dame may apply to other Early Action programs.
A student applying Restrictive Early Action to Notre Dame may not apply to any college or university in their binding Early Decision program.
Anyway, @jsmith93 said he is applying to Vandy RD.
