Vanderbilt ED1 Class of 2022 Discussion Thread

Ps. She too could not get an interview with alumni but we met a super nice recent alumni (2016) from NC while visiting family for Thanksgiving. This girl LOVED Vandy. I mean loved it! And she never drank while in college- and joined a sorority. So I guess you dont have to “party” to socialize fit in or love college…

Anyone read anywhere about how many ED applications they received this year? I have heard from other sources that ED applications way up this year in general.

Yes, I read the same. ED applications are up all around the country. Amazing that so many people can commit to a binding agreement.

I think with RD acceptance rates so low with some schools, people figure it is best to commit somewhere to increase their chances. Many feel they have the “out” if they don’t get enough of a FA package. Unfortunate since Vandy doesn’t defer and therefore someone who MAY have been accepted ED now will not be accepted at all.

Is anyone aware of a way to upload a resume/supplemental stuff onto MyAppVU?

Why did they change the scholarship deadline?

@whyamilikethis email it to your counselor

12 days everyone! Who else is super nervous?

Tick tock

eek im so scared

I really wish that we would find out sooner but it’s kind of nice not knowing, so at least there’s still hope LOL

I saw that @amominaz asked this question, but I did not see any definitive answers…has anyone heard from their school or from Vandy admissions whether ED applications increased this year and if so, by how much? Also, did they say for certain that decisions will be posted on December 15 at 5:30PM Central or are we just going by what happened last year? Thanks and good luck to everyone.

It’s hard to imagine ED applications have done anything but increase, given all the publicity about the super-low acceptance RD rates at elite schools like Vandy. If Penn and others have announced increases, it stands to reason that Vanderbilt has seen a similar rise.

@finnb I think they’ll notify us soon with the exact time (usually a few days before the 15th) but it was 5:30 last year

10 days…

We’re down to single digits! Can’t believe it’s almost time

Was the date of the scholarship deadline pass on Dec. 1 or was it extended?

It looks like both the Chancellor’s and the Cornelius Vanderbilt were extended to the 15th according to MyAppVU @Sam-I-Am
