Vanderbilt ED1 Discussion Thread Class of 2021

Decisions won’t come out on a Saturday or Sunday. ED came out on a Friday last year and RD was a Wednesday. As someone who applied ED to Duke and ended up at Vandy as an RD student, though, I know I stressed myself out like crazy on these boards last year, and the who process is crazy. Don’t stress too much about where you end up, Vandy was my 5th or 6th option before applications, but I can’t imagine going anywhere else at this point

I had some fun applying. My application was ready to go, except for my recommenders. I wanted to use my drum instructor as an “other recommender” but after asking for a whole month, he told me on October 31st he couldn’t do it. Luckily another instructor in the band could write one for me. I applied midday on November 1st, got my login info a day later and found out I had no interviewers in my area. Is it possible that if I had applied sooner, I could have gotten an interview?

Hey Guys! Also Applying ED1 to Vanderbilt, from Charlotte, NC. Really excited now that decisions are one month away! (If the 15th is accurate)… Previous years when they were released on the 11th or before, do we know that that was before they were supposed to be released??

My daughter applied ED2 in 2013 and I’m pretty sure her acceptance letter (that year notifications were by U.S. Mail) arrived on Tuesday, February 12 though we thought it would be Friday, February 15.

Applied ED… THIS HAS BEEN THE SLOWEST MONTH EVER.

@yoitsLiv2k17 agreed!

Vandy will email you about finding out the decisions like a day before, but keep on checking the Vanderbilt blog - they will notify the date! @slyhollis22

I cannot wait! It needs to be December 15 right now!

guyyyyyssss im so nervous

When do you guys think the decision will come out? December 9th?

I’m banking on the 13th… the last time the 15th fell on a Thursday (2012), decisions were mailed out the 13th and emailed the 15th.

Definitely could be December 9th, in my opinion. Cornell’s doing December 8th, so it’s not necessarily “too early.”

My daughter found out on 12/12/12 … luckiest day of the century : )

Oh my god I really really hope it’s the 9th!!

I hope so too!

How many internationals here? i am from Pakistan.

what majors are you guys applying to?

Computer Science
I am sooo nervous. Will my major affect my chances?

I think Peabody has a slightly higher acceptance rate than Arts and Sciences. Don’t know about Engineering. But it’s not at all a drastic difference between schools

I applied to the College of Arts and Sciences but am having second thoughts about it and I wish I applied to the college of engineering. Ill probably major in a mathematical science and pursue a minor in biomed engineering

I can’t focus on anything other than my admissions decision!! Fingers crossed for the 9th!!!
